Lately, I've been wanting to get back to my little notebook, set aside 5 minutes at night before bed and write down in it what I'm going to do the next day. This habit is very good for setting clear objectives, meeting goals, postponing less important activities and making sure I have time for myself during the week.

I once learned in an emotional support workshop the advantages of doing this. If I already know what I will do the next day, or at least plan my next day, stress and anxiety tend to go down. I know it sounds like the opposite, but doing it really works.

This was a habit I had a while ago and because of so many things to take care of I have neglected it a bit. Likewise, I felt somewhat annoyed by the routine and structure. My life itself is structured because I have fixed activities on fixed days, but I try to be flexible as much as I can so I can have moments of mental hygiene.

And that is one of the things I learned that I can improve in this daily practice: keeping my notebook has to be simple and easy for me.

For example, I write down in order of priority what I plan to do (errands, commitments, work), what I need to take care of myself or what I can delegate to others, if I have to make a phone call or send an important message, etc. I write them down so as not to forget them and to get into the habit of doing them.

This helped me a lot to start good habits such as drinking water constantly (something I didn't do) and when it became part of me I didn't have to write it down in the notebook anymore. And so it will happen with other things as well.

You might think that this practice is simple and may not have much effect, but it helps me to keep some order and attend to my priorities as best I can.

However, I also learned that in order to feel good I can't include too many things (about five or six a day), because this allows me to be more flexible if something unexpected comes up, to better enjoy the things I do, to do them at my own pace and to feel comfortable.

At the end of the day I mark the things I was able to do and that gives me satisfaction.

Have you ever tried this practice? I would love to know. 💜

¿Has probado esta práctica alguna vez? Me encantaría saberlo. 💜

Making plans for tomorrow is a very good habit and it helps us stay organised especially when we have a lot of things to do in a day.

I did this some time ago but couldn't keep it, there were days when I forgot and it was really an issue because I have almost the same routine every day.

It's not much of a routine and when something new pops up, I find it easy to just navigate through.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. That's why there came a time when I got a little tired of it. Now I want to take it up again with more flexibility and support for the things I like, so I make sure I keep it over time. It's really good to know that you have also tried it and that your routine is that good 🤗. Thanks for commenting 😃

I’m glad to know that at the end of the day you marking the things you’ve been able to do gives you satisfaction
It’s the same thing for me too
It motivates to even get things down by just looking at it

Aw thank you very much. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and comment. The stones are the funniest. When they were given to us, I didn't hesitate to take a picture of them as a souvenir 😃
