TOURING WITH MY DAD'S CAR; How My Plan Failed Because Of Fuel

20230729_102911.jpg

As we all know that the male child loves cars a lot and everything related to cars. It is rare to find a male child that doesn't like cars and won't grow up with that love for cars.

And here in Nigeria, I have heard, seen and experienced scenes where parents especially the father, finds it difficult to release their car to their male child when they become old enough to drive a car. They become extra caring about their cars and sometimes it is funny and annoying at same time.

I had similar issue with my own dad but I have driven his car more than 25 times now only because I had to be stubborn and determined (I watched few YouTube videos on how to drive a car😂😂😂)

MY PLAN AND HOW IT FAILED

20230802_165822.jpg

This was my plan: to come home after exams and get at least 8-12 liters of petrol in my dad's car then, go out with my friends to nice places in my area. Basically, just have fun and experience driving for more than 30mins.

But, the plan failed due to the removal of subsidy on petrol in Nigeria and its effect like hike in prices of goods and services. I was really sad when I knew this particular plan won't succeed yet; this won't stop me from trying again, I might need to increase my earning power so I can get comfortable to do things I want.

Another thing is the car battery

Recently, we found out that the car battery is not as good as before. Early April, we repaired the alternator of the car because we thought it was faulty not knowing it was the battery. Now the car battery goes off if the car is not well warmed at least twice in a day. And like this evening, it has refused to start again because it wasn't well warmed by my dad in the morning...(I need to get someone else's car battery to start the car). I guess a good battery would cost at least $60-$80 at the moment.

I am still determined to fulfill my desire; to tour with my dad's car, though I know he would not agree to this but I don't care since I will be fueling the car myslef😎.

Male child + Dad + Dad's car is another issue that needs to be addressed😂😂

Thank you for reading till the end♥️.

Wait! Are you driving without a driving license? Or I misunderstood something.

😂😂😂😂
I don't have a driver's license yet (hope you aren't a cop)

I don't go to the highways with the car because that would require me having a license. I only drive with in my community to help my mum get stuffs that needs to be conveyed by vehicle when dad's not around. I learnt how to drive the car myself and getting a driver's license is a little bit expensive and stressful I guess. I should get my driver's license this year, before the car tour😅

I think you're wrongly informed. Driving a car requires a license, regardless where you drive. You don't have a license, you don't drive, it's that simple.

I learnt how to drive the car myself and getting a driver's license is a little bit expensive and stressful I guess.

Then don't drive. You're a danger to yourself and everyone else. Ride a bike as that does not require a license.

I understand you and that's why I haven't moved the car an inch since I got home from school. I'm planning to get a license soon, so I'm not driving till I get one.
Thank you @erikah

😂 😂 You see that car is like mini god, you don't just play with it. You have the chance to drive the car. I started driving my dad's car at the age of 26. Anywhere my dad is you shall see the key. It's a No No. Me and the key shall die here 😂 💔. But it's an interesting one tho. Finally we later have access to the car. I had a similar case with my younger brother. Perhaps going to write about that.
Nice one bro.

It is a very common issue between father and their son😅, but it is less worrying when you have a driver's license. Once, I get that, I am free to drive again.

If your you get brother can get a driver's license, then it will be easier for your dad to release his car. You should write about it.
