It's Either Ignorance Or Nonchalance.

In retrospect: I remember the teacher in front of the class, facing the white board, wrote POLLUTION. That topic is one of the most relatable topics ever in schools because everyone can say one or two about pollution. The types of pollution and their causes was an easy peasy back then: noise, air, water, light, soil, thermal, etc. We all get serious about keeping our classes clean for about two weeks but give up after two weeks because some students just doesn't give a damn about it: they know they should keep the environment clean but are nonchalant about it and those are the main reasons why pollution can be completely eradicated. Some are nonchalant about it, some ignorance is the problem.

I am schooling in an area where the soil is red, clay soil, the whole state has red soil so we inhale and wear dust Everytime we outside. 4 years ago, I remembered when a final year student asked me what I don't like about the school (I was a fresh student then) I told her it's the fact that we can't stay away from dust. Walking for 3 minutes and more will automatically mean you'd be having dust at the back of your legs or shoes, especially if you aren't careful while walking. The roads between off campus hostels to the main expressway isn't tiled, so we literally have dust everywhere. Movements of cars and bikes also add to this; at least 3 times a day , it is possible to witness a rough driver or rider on the streets running carelessly for no reason and that causes so many dust to rise in the air. I used to worry a lot about this dust because of how much it can ruin your outfit but there's nothing to do about that except fixing the road.

Another pollution is as a result of being nonchalant and silly. Just opposite the school main gate, there are many shops were a lot is being sold. It seems as though only 10% of these shop owners are bothered about how the gutter drainage system looks right in front of their shops. There are always dirts like nylons, plastics and broken sticks or wood inside and they never take it away until it's raining. I mean they don't bother at all until there is a heavy down pour before they hire some men to bring out the diets inside the gutter. Crazy part, the dirts from the gutter are left right there on the road beside their shops with stinking smell. It's so overwhelming to think that adults can think of a way to dispose off stinking dirts.

The last kind of pollution is noise pollution in my hostel, this one is due to lack of power supply. Once there hasn't been power supply for a while, guys with generator will switch on their generator and the whole hostel won't know peace until past twelve midnight when they switch it off. I'm not against putting on generator, the need it, I charge too but some of those generators generate noise more than electricity 😂😂.

Why would a generator be making so much noise from 2 rooms away and it sounds like it is right behind my window ?. I'd close my kitchen and bathroom windows, close the doors too yet it's has almost no effect. At times when all the generators are off, my ears feels so weird for a short while because the noise had been for long. I always pray that there is power supply so as not to bear the noise from 4 and more generators at the same time.

Walahi, I know how this stuff can be. Very disgusting and so annoying.
The air in my state of residence should be like the absolute worst in this country. It's more than horrible. Most sicknesses people fall to should be as a result of it.

Aa for generator sounds, students do the worse. Let me reserve comment jare.

Normal normal, boys must on gen. But interestingly, the same guys may upgrade to solar and the noise pollution will reduce. You'd have long graduated by then, though.

Yeah, boys must on gen. I think many of these guys don't even think about solar, gen is the trend here.

I would definitely have graduated.
