How do you prepare for returning to work after motherhood?
Hi, today I want to tell you a little bit about my concerns. My maternity leave is expiring soon (mid-January) after 2 years of staying at home with a little one.
Probably like many of you, I have my worries too. In Bulgaria, as far as I know, one of the longest parental leave is given - 2 years paid leave with an additional year of unpaid leave which can be used until the child is 7 years old. This unpaid year is in most cases used when the child is ill and unable to attend nursery or kindergarten. It can be taken all in one go (and staying at home for 3 years) or piecemeal.
Motherhood is long here, you've probably heard of mummy brain, where mums start talking in plurals about them and their children "we've started eating", "we're going to kindergarten" and so on.
Now just before I go back to work I'm worried. Am I good enough as a professional or have I forgotten everything? Are there any changes in the company I work for or is it is all the same old same old?
There is no time left, hey now the Christmas holidays will come, and after them the New Year and it starts full steam...
