Happens even with the good people

Bad things always happen. No matter how many good things we have done, sometimes misfortune strikes us too.

I had a frankly shitty day today. Last night we got a call that my son's big brother was admitted to the hospital as an emergency with abdominal pain... All this happened just before midnight. I barely slept. I was worried about what was going on.

In the morning they told us they suspected appendicitis because he was bloated as well as his bowel. They said they would operate on him today at 9:30. We live in different towns and nothing we could do. Even if we went there, they wouldn't let us in the hospital because of the COVID situation and the measures to deal with the infection.

Luckily all went well and this cutie is recovering. I was honestly relieved when they discovered the problem. Prior to surgery he was on systems all night really not knowing what he had, just some assumption of appendicitis.

When we talked to him we reassured him that everything would go quickly and that they would put a mask on him for a while and that they would check to see if he could count. Hopefully, we have given him the strength not to be afraid! He is a strong boy and I know he will recover quickly!

Glad to hear that they figured out the problem. That surgery isn't too bad I had it many years ago. I am sending lots of love, healing, and strength to you all. Being away from your kids is difficult (I am far from my 3 so I know too) especially when something big happens to them. I'm sure he will heal quickly.
