My Sunday at "Wake Park" | My Weekend
After an intense week, I have decided to spend a relaxing Sunday. This week was full of activities. I was so busy that I couldn't even get time to sit down for a while. I went back to my work as an organizer and already started working on 2-3 projects. I will share about them soon. My big labrador is started going to school, basically, she is learning behavior and control and I have to give my full attention now. The main problem is my dog doesn't consider me as her owner I mean she really doesn't pay attention to me. This is actually not her problem, I have to teach her that and I am learning now how to become her ALPHA, lol...
I have to go with her twice a week and also have to complete the given tasks and I must say I am a very bad student than my dog, lol...
My company where I have been working was dealing with some issues, basically partnership problems and now it solved. So, as an organizer, I don't need to deal with official drama, I basically stayed out of this politics.
My skiing class will start tomorrow so next week is going to be a very busy week. I never thought I could do so much all at once, but I am managing. I won't say that I am doing an excellent job of managing all the activities but I am trying my best. Of course, meanwhile, I take a break and walk around...
For example, today I went to The Wake Park. Honestly, when I first heard the name I was a little shocked and confuse because it is such a weird name. In Russian, it is called "вейк-парк" and the meaning of вейк-парк is wake park. It is located at Heroiv Pratsi Street, only 15 minutes away from Metro station. The location is very prominent, Kharkiv river is located nearby which is frozen now.
The park is very old and doesn't look like a park. It looks like a pine forest rather than a park. The whole park is surrounded by old pine trees. One side of the park is close to the street and another side is close to the Kharkiv river. To go to the river bank, you have to walk a lot. Another park of the park is closed to Karavan Shopping mall so this park doesn't look like an abandoned park.
Many people come here, especially on weekend. People walk here or do skiing. As the Kharkiv river is nearby and frozen so people this park has become popular for skiing. Some come here for winter walks with family and with their dog. Unfortunately, there is no playground or playzone for kids, it's more like a forest.
According to the map, there should be a racecourse but everything was covered under the snow so it was hard to identify the racecourse spot. Probably it is located after the park. Though the walking trail was clearly visible.
There was a lake called Ozero Kvituche nearby which is a lake for fishing. It is frozen now, people go there in summer for fishing and do BBQ party.
A part of the park is full of baby pine trees, I think they will be transferred when they will be mature enough. Another thing that came into my mind while walking in the park that is the plantation of the trees are very organized so it's not a natural forest or park. It is social forestry in which a human does plantation.
After crossing the park or forestry area, I have found a vast land covered with snow. There was nothing but open blue sky and some willows and bushes. The entire ground was covered with thick snow and looked very beautiful. The sky and snowy land seemed like blended with each other. While standing there I have noticed a piece of Kharkiv city. From far away, the city can be seen, some highrises and residential buildings.
One might think that the sky and the land were separated by the city structures while seeing the horizon.
I have taken some photos while walking, it was a bright sunny beautiful winter day and everything was bright. The warmth of the sun melted my heart and I was feeling so relaxed and blessed.
It was an open area but because of the sun, I felt good and warm. Also, everything around me was shinny and visible and many people were around me.
Just look at the sun, it felt like the sun was spreading the blessing all over the earth.
White soft snow and the sun both had created a magical land. As someone told me that the size of the space/ forest doesn't matter, what you felt matters.
Few photos turned out amazing, I was regretting not taking my GoPro with me. I wasn't expecting such scenery to be honest.
After spending two hours, I decided to go back home. But before that, I ate lunch at Karavan Shopping Mall and then had a cup of coffee.
It was a well-spent, mindful Sunday...
That's all for today, folks...
Until next time... Have a nice day everyone...
