Hello to you all my dedicated members of Weekend Experiences,
There's a saying that even fools grow old, and as humans, we sometimes make decisions based on the advice we receive from someone we look up to believing that they are impacted especially if they are older.
However, no human is perfect, even our parents who birth us can sometimes give us wrong advice. I would like to talk about the advice I have received and how it affected my life.

    The worst advice

I remember vividly when I was a teenager. We were living close to a single mother who turned out to be our neighbor. The advice she often issued to me was the opposite of what my parents gave me but she would give her reasons which would seem so convincing.
Well, some may say it depends on perspective. By then I had never known any man not to talk of dating any because I believed it wasn't the right time. My parents also told me that going to a bachelor's apartment alone is wrong. However, she advised me that even in high school I could date a guy to get help financially help or otherwise from him to support myself. She made me believe it wasn't as bad as I thought. Meanwhile, there was a young guy who parked in our neighborhood, his name was Christian, He told me he liked me and would want to date me, but I bluntly declined his proposal telling him I wasn't ready for that. When he insisted, I was scared to tell my parents about it so I decided to relate it to her, immediately I told her she asked what my response was and told me I should have accepted, she also advised me to go ahead and visit Christian's house since he invited me. It was the worst advice I ever received when Christian attempted to rape me in His house all because I couldn't let him sleep with me, I screamed and struggled till I heard another neighbor coming to my rescue. When I escaped, I wasn't the same, I was filled with fright which couldn't let me be free with people as usual again, especially men. It affected me emotionally. We must always be careful of whom we take advice from.

    The best advice.

The best advice I have received was from my mom. Who advises on handwork and contentment. Never stay idle as an idle man is the devil's workshop. Mama, as she fondly calls me” Learn how to make your own money, even in your husband's house don't stay idle, a hardworking person never lacks food she often told me. And never spend because your friends are also spending, don't compare yourself to them always be contented.
This advice helped me in my journey in life. Even as a student I engaged in things that could generate income for me, I also kept to her advice on how to manage my resources and not compare myself to others. I have benefited positively from her advice.

You won't understand the power people words are until you start making decisions based on those words and then like always decisions have outcome.

Thank God he did not succeed in his evil scheme.
