Not all that glitters

Like I've said in the past, sometimes, you have to come a little bit closer for you to actually see somethings a lot clearer.

Before I go any further, I understand if some of you are a bit skeptical when it comes to things like black magic or voodoo, but for the purpose of today's blog, I'd appreciate it if you guys just entertain the thought that it might be real for a minute. Because over here, we so much believe in things like that and there are certain unexplainable things that has happened that can only make sense if it's linked to black magic.

Some couple of days ago, a friend of mine had traveled back home to go see his family, but the condition he had met them in was way worse than he had anticipated. He knew that things wasn't going great for them, but sometimes, you realize it's way worse only when you see it for yourself.

So he knew he needed to make some money and he needed to do it fast, and that was when he visited a friend of his. This was a friend who would occasionally send him money when he was in school here, a good friend of his.

He said the first day he had gone to his place, that he and his friend didn't get the chance to really discuss why he was there, as they mostly reminisced about their secondary school days (they had both attended the same secondary school). When they weren't talking about school, he (his friend) was flaunting his wealthy lifestyle in front of my friend, talking about lands he had bought, or the phones he bought for hundreds of thousands, or the new house he was about to buy..

Well, my friend had to go visit him on another day and when he got there, the guy had continued to stall like he did the last time. Instead of attending to my friend and maybe look for a way he could help him out with his problem, he instead drove out with his girlfriend and stayed for hours and had asked my friend to feel at home. He had even told him that he could sleep over if he wanted to.

When my friend told me about how the guy was stalling, I got suspicious and asked him to be careful, telling him that if things got weird, that he should run away if he had to. Here's a screenshot of our chat on that day. Although some of the words were written in pidgin English.

Anyways, when he eventually came back, they had spoken at length and according to my friend, by the time they were done, he was too scared to stay there. So he gave him some random excuse as to why he had to return home that night and ran for his life.

To cut the long story short, the guy was into something called money ritual and apparently there are various types of money ritual, one that doesn't necessarily involve the spilling of human blood.

This wasn't really a surprise to me as the whole thing about that guy was already suspicious to me in the beginning. It just shows us that while you might envy the lifestyle of some people, you don't know about some of the terrible things they had to do to have that lifestyle.

For a little time I thought I was reading a fictional story but it was the real one. I think we should try to be satisfied from our own place.

And to stop envying other people because you don't know the crazy things they had to do to get to where they are.
