An Inner Alarm Clock

Today, I was having a conversation with a lady friend at my hostel who plans on traveling to Lagos in a few days time. She basically was asking me about the procedures in getting the bus ticket, what to do and what not to do because this was actually her first time traveling down there.

While we were having that conversation, one of the things I had urged her to do on the morning she would be traveling was for her to wake up early in order not to miss her bus. So she had mentioned that she would set multiple alarms for that which was actually a reasonable thing to do, but then I started to think about my preparations in the morning whenever I'm about to embark on a journey and how I never really set an alarm because I've come to find out that I don't really need one and this is because I've realized that I have something that due to lack of a better name for it, I will be calling an Inner Alarm clock.

And one of the main reasons why I'm writing about this today is to find out if this is a unique thing that happens to just me (kinda like a super power) or if it's nothing special and happens to everyone else.

Anyways, I've come to find out that whenever I need to be somewhere important or do something important, I constantly have it at the back of my mind, even when I'm asleep. And due to the fact that that particular thing is constantly bugging me, I find myself waking up at intervals to check if it is time for me to get up and do whatever that is.

The same thing happens to me when I have a blog to write here on Hive but slept off by mistake, I always find myself not having a good night rest and most times waking up in the middle of the night to get that thing done.

Back in the day, I used to get pissed at it because it always kinda forced me to complete projects that I wasn't ready to complete yet because I knew that was the only way I could have a good night rest, but now that I've gotten older, I'm actually very happy that it happens to me because I feel like that has made me a lot more productive than I would have been if it didn't happen to me.

So tell me, is it just me or does this happen to everyone else too?

Indeed we all have a inner clock and it's effective most of the time but I think setting a alarm is necessary for the safety case because sometimes your inner clock may not work and you may need to pay a huge price for it.

Setting an alarm clock is always necessary, kinda like a plan B. It's sad to find out that we all have the inner clock thingy though.. I thought it was my super power... Lol
