Happy Sunday 🎉 Happy Easter🐰and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's another 24 hours to be grateful for and am hoping everyone is having a great day. Can you believe April is here already, 2024 is flying .Thank you for stopping by and please keep reading 👓 as I let you in on how my day has been plus some of the trending stories that caught my eye 👀. Here we go again 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out to the shopping centre for some fruits and veggies. Next came the refreshing nap💤. Then I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news, There was also some interesting and exciting football matches going on.
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze.
Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Finnish rally driver Kalle Rovanperä became a two-time winner of Safari Rally Kenya on Sunday afternoon, ending the gruelling African fixture with a 1m 37.8s victory margin having led since Friday morning.Congratulations to him🎊🎉.
Globally, another horrendous bloody day unfolded in Gaza. Israeli airstrikes kept going in southern Gaza. 17 people killed in Khan Younis😿.
Another four people killed in strikes at Al aqsa hospital in Gaza city. A tent housing displaced people in the hospital's courtyard was hit😿.
The total number of Palestinians killed since October 7 now at 32,782😭.
In northern Gaza, the cases of hunger and malnutrition are rapidly rising. Children mostly affected and are wasting away infront of their helpless parents😿. One mother has watched her kid lose a ton of weight, the kid stopped walking, cannot stand and now cannot speak🙀.
Across the border in Israel; tens of thousands of demonstrators launched a 3 day protest outside the Knesset in west Jerusalem. They are fed up with Benjamin Netanyahu and his policies😹. They now want him to resign.
Speaking of Netanyahu, he will be undergoing a hernia surgery tomorrow.
Let's go to Europe, the other war. Ukrainian president Zelensky is calling for more air defence systems and more weapons. Russia bombardment has damaged several power plants in recent weeks causing blackouts, and they are not stopping🙀.
Also trending, polls have closed in Turkeys municipal elections to choose mayors and members of the city council. The opposition has taken an early lead in the election including in Ankara and Istanbul🙀.
At Vatican city, the Pope renewed calls for a Gaza ceasefire and release of captives in his Easter address.
Bulgaria and Romania have partially joined Europe's Schengen area. Schengen rules are not applicable to land borders due to Austria's concerns over undocumented migration.
Across the pond in the US, Trump and Biden clashed over transgender day of visibility falling on Easter😹.
Trump camp decries assault on the Christian faith, while white house blasts cruel, hateful and dishonest rhetoric.
Also trending, US firm AT&T says data of 73 million customers has leaked on to the dark web🙀. At least 7.6 million existing account holders and 65.4 million former users hit by the breach.
The leaked info includes social security numbers, passcodes and contact details😿.
On the bright side, the company said it had already reset passcodes and was investigating the incident. Also no personal financial information or call history has leaked.
