TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us and am starting to get used to March😹. I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive 💯. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful, a short walk but I loved it. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans. Today was international women's day honoring women and their role in society. They are our daughters, nieces, mothers, sisters, wives, aunts and grandmothers, definitely more power to them💯. People in various cities around the world rallied calling for more rights and better treatment of women.
Globally the devastation in Gaza kept going. Israeli airstrikes killed 24 Palestinians in Rafa and Khan Younis😿. Another 11 killed in Deir Al Balah in central Gaza. The death toll is at 30,878 killed since the war began a few months ago😭.
Still in Gaza, two people killed by faulty parachutes dropping aid boxes.
The west is struggling to try and stop an imminent famine in Gaza by supplying aid. EU commission president Ursula Von deLeyen launched the Cyprus maritime aid corridor, a shipping route from Europe to Gaza aimed at delivering aid.
Meanwhile the US, say building a temporary port in Gaza would take up to 60 days🙀. The port will help bringing aid in. However, the UN says land route would be the fastest way to get aid into Gaza.
Israeli forces have been blocking aid trucks and opening fire on desperate Palestinians waiting for food aid🙀.
Across the pond in the US, ex Honduran president has been found guilty of drug trafficking charges in a federal court🙀. He was convicted today of conspiring to import cocaine into the US and possessing destructive devices including machine guns. He faces life in prison.
Finally, the biggest boxing match of the year is about to go down. Anthony Joshua goes one on one with Francis Ngannou in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia😹. Tens of millions to be won in this match, may the best man win💯.
