Happy Tuesday, Happy new year 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. I am definitely grateful for this day💯, the second day of 2024.So it's been another wonderful day and it's about that time to slow down, get ready for bed 💤. Before that let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's begin 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores. It's been quite cloudy the entire day even as I walked to the shopping centre in the afternoon.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Today was a back to work day as many offices reopened after the holiday season.
Globally, Israel maintained it's onslaught on Gaza as death toll topped 22,000😭. Meanwhile fierce ground battles between Hamas fighters and Israeli army kept going😿.
Also trending, an Israel drone strike in Beirut Lebanon has killed Hamas deputy leader Sàleh al Arouri, 2 other commanders with him also died🙀. They were having a meeting in the apartment. Looks like Israeli intelligence caught them.
Lebanese PM has condemned the attack in Beirut terming it new Israeli crime.
Hezbollah had said that killing will not pass without punishment🙀.
In Europe, Turkey trending as it has reportedly detained 33 people suspected of spying on behalf of Israel🙀. They allegedly planned to pursue, assault and kidnap foreign nationals living in Turkey.
Ukraine trending too as Russia fired 99 missiles on Kyiv and Kharkiv.Ukraine fired 50 drones on Russian city of Belgorod🙀.
Finally, Japan trending as 379 passengers were evacuated from a burning plane. The plane caught fire after colliding with a another plane. However, five people died in the other plane😭. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families.
