Visit Portugal - Angeiras Lighthouse

There's something magical about starting the day with a walk along the Angeiras Lighthouse boardwalk. The fresh sea breeze, the calming sound of the waves and the beautiful ocean view make it a perfect spot for peaceful reflection.

That early morning, I decided to go for another one of my walks on the Angeiras Lighthouse boardwalk. Angeiras is a place I often visit for walks because it’s close to where I live. The fresh air and the smell of the sea greeted me as I stepped outside, setting the tone for a perfect day.

The sky was clear, and the sun was already starting to rise, casting a golden light over everything. The vibrant blue of the sky stretched endlessly above, creating a beautiful contrast with the sea below.

Nessa manhã, decidi fazer mais um dos meus passeios pelo calçadão do Farolim de Angeiras. Angeiras é um local que visito com frequência para passear porque fica perto do local onde vivo. O ar fresco e o cheiro do mar saudaram-me quando saí, dando o mote para um dia perfeito.

O céu estava limpo e o sol já começava a nascer, lançando uma luz dourada sobre tudo. O azul vibrante do céu estendia-se infinitamente acima, criando um belo contraste com o mar que se encontrava mais abaixo.

Before I even reached the boardwalk, I noticed a large group of seagulls gathered on the beach. They were scattered along the shore, walking in and out of the water, searching for food. It was a peaceful sight, though the beach itself had a lot of seaweed scattered along the sand. It didn’t bother me, though it’s part of the natural beauty of the area.

Ainda antes de chegar ao passeio marítimo, reparei num grande grupo de gaivotas reunidas na praia. Estavam espalhados ao longo da costa, entrando e saindo da água em busca de alimento. Era uma visão tranquila, embora a praia em si tivesse muitas algas espalhadas pela areia. Não me incomodou, embora faça parte da beleza natural da região.

As I approached the beginning of the boardwalk, I saw the familiar signs that warn of dangerous waves, though these warnings are mostly for when the weather is bad.

Today, the sea was calm and the gentle waves lapped quietly against the shore. The water was a beautiful shade of blue, sparkling under the sunlight. The calmness of the sea always brings a sense of peace to my walks, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Ao aproximar-me do início do passeio, vi as placas familiares que alertam para ondas perigosas, embora estes avisos sejam principalmente para quando o tempo está mau.

Hoje o mar estava calmo e as ondas suaves batiam silenciosamente na costa. A água tinha um bonito tom de azul, brilhando sob a luz do sol. A calmaria do mar traz sempre uma sensação de paz aos meus passeios, tornando a experiência ainda mais agradável.

The boardwalk stretches out towards the lighthouse and along the way, you can see the rocks scattered throughout the water. These rocks add a rugged charm to the landscape, breaking up the smooth surface of the sea. Every now and then, I could spot someone fishing off the side of the boardwalk, patiently waiting for a catch. It’s a common sight here, and I always find it fascinating to watch them, even for just a moment, as I continue on my way.

O passadiço estende-se em direção ao farolim e ao longo do caminho é possível avistar as pedras espalhadas pela água. Estas rochas conferem um encanto agreste à paisagem, rompendo a superfície lisa do mar. De vez em quando, conseguia avistar alguém a pescar na berma do passeio, esperando pacientemente pela pesca. É uma visão comum aqui, e acho sempre fascinante observá-los, nem que seja por um momento, enquanto continuo o meu caminho.

As I got closer to the lighthouse, the view became even more stunning. From this point, you can see far out into the ocean, and it always takes my breath away. The combination of the blue water, the rocky coastline, and the open sky is simply beautiful.

It’s one of those places where you can’t help but stop and take it all in, appreciating the peacefulness and beauty of nature. Each time I walk here, I feel a deep sense of relaxation and gratitude for living so close to such a lovely place.

À medida que me aproximava do farol, a vista tornava-se ainda mais deslumbrante. Deste ponto, pode ver-se o oceano ao longe, e isso deixa-me sempre sem fôlego. A combinação da água azul, da costa rochosa e do céu aberto é simplesmente linda.

É um daqueles locais onde não se pode deixar de parar e apreciar tudo, apreciando a tranquilidade e a beleza da natureza. Cada vez que passo por aqui, sinto uma profunda sensação de relaxamento e gratidão por viver tão perto de um lugar tão bonito.

As I continued my walk along the boardwalk, I noticed how the sun had climbed higher in the sky, casting a brighter light over everything. The warmth of the sun on my skin was pleasant, but there was still a cool breeze coming off the ocean, keeping the temperature perfect for a morning walk.

The sound of the waves crashing softly against the rocks was calming, almost meditative. I passed a few other early risers along the way, some walking their dogs and others, like me, just enjoying the peaceful start to the day.

Enquanto continuava a minha caminhada pelo passeio marítimo, apercebi-me de como o sol tinha subido mais alto no céu, lançando uma luz mais brilhante sobre tudo. O calor do sol na minha pele era agradável, mas ainda assim soprava uma brisa fresca vinda do mar, mantendo a temperatura perfeita para um passeio matinal.

O som das ondas a bater suavemente nas rochas era calmante, quase meditativo. Passei por alguns outros madrugadores ao longo do caminho, alguns passeando os seus cães e outros, como eu, apenas aproveitando o início tranquilo do dia.

As I reached the far end of the boardwalk, near the lighthouse, I took a moment to stop and sit on one of the benches. From this spot, the view was nothing short of spectacular. The vast expanse of the ocean stretched out before me, its deep blue waters shimmering under the sunlight.

I could see the gentle waves rolling in and out and further out, the horizon where the sky met the sea in a perfect line. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love coming to Angeiras so often. No matter how many times I walk this path, the beauty of the sea, the sound of the waves, and the peaceful atmosphere always make it feel special.

Ao chegar ao fim do passeio, perto do farol, parei e sentei-me num dos bancos. Deste local, a vista era simplesmente espetacular. A vasta extensão do oceano estendia-se diante de mim, as suas águas azuis profundas brilhando sob a luz do sol.

Conseguia ver as ondas suaves a entrar e a sair e mais longe, o horizonte onde o céu encontrava o mar numa linha perfeita. São momentos como estes que me recordam porque adoro vir tantas vezes a Angeiras. Por mais vezes que percorra este caminho, a beleza do mar, o som das ondas e o ambiente tranquilo fazem sempre com que seja especial.
