Hello amazing nature lovers, this post is my entry into the free topic section of the amazing nature contest hosted by @hive-127788 . During the process of reading this post, your great minds will be enlightened to the reason I said Nature can't be caged.

  • The images above shows a large body mass of water, it could be referred to as a river but in this scenario, a lake would be more appropriate. Permit me to call this artificial embodiment Manga lake, ironically this area was a densely populated community know as Manga. It is located in a North Eastern state (Taraba state) of Nigeria. This community share a border with Cameroon to the east.
  • About fifteen kilometers from this community is the origin of a large river know as Donga river in Cameroon. This Donga river flows from Cameroon through the Mambila plateau through Manga community In Taraba state, it later pours into the river Benue in the middle belt of Nigeria.
  • Some years ago, due to some climatic and global warming changes, the Donga river flooded and left many villages and communities along it's path in a lasting disaster. Unfortunately, Manga community was one of them.
  • The Manga lake is one of the results of this great flood. Of course it could have been prevented by dredging of the river which would have stopped it from overflowing and subsequently, the communities would have been intact till date.
    • As seen in the images, the upper parts of some very tall trees are still visible on the lake, these are trees with deep and strong tap root system, as the week trees were wiped out. These existing trees proves that the Manga lake which is now an aquatic habitat was a terrestrial habitat.

  • Motor boats are now the only mode of transportation to the villages and communities that are across the lake.
  • Though the Manga Lake is a beautiful sight to behold, how the lake got to be was a natural but tragic experience for previous inhabitants, thus making me derive the point that NATURE CANT BE CAGED.
  • Thanks for patiently reading through my post, I'll appreciate your support, upvote and vote in this contest. THANKS A LOT.

Thank you for entering the competition.
A sad story for the people who lived there.
However, from the point of view of the function of nature, it is a natural thing. The water probably "took back" the territory it once was in.

Hello @ponmile22222. I am sorry to hear about the drastic changes in the Manga region produced by the rising waters of the lake that have affected the population. In the city where I live in Venezuela, the increase in the level of the lake of Valencia has generated the flooding of populated areas and the inhabitants have lost their lives. I believe that the lake has been recovering the level it had many years ago. Very interesting your publication.
Greetings

Wow, that's so sad to hear, the rate of global warming worldwide is alarming. More attention should be given to it because it's effects are devastating.

It is a process that has already begun and we are already seeing the changes. Hopefully we can adapt to them.
