Circus " A touch of drama"
Another perspective about the show
This Christmas I was at the circus with my children. It was a fun day and I had the chance to take some pictures with my cell phone.
As I like to experiment a lot with the photos I take, I thought of suppressing all the color and leave them in black and white and the result was surprising, it gives me the feeling that it was another totally different performance, for my way of seeing things all the fun and joy of the performance in black and white is transformed into drama and seriousness.

The joyful expressions of the faces become more serious, the sets and the absence of light create a completely different habitat for the artists. The clowns seem less cheerful and the acrobats seem less confident.

When I got home and saw the images I started to test them in monochrome, and the truth is that I like the pictures almost more with this absence of color.

It was terribly cold that day, I don't know how the artists didn't freeze because the heating didn't work properly, I guess the life behind the stage has made them very strong.

As there was not too much light when photographing the trapeze artists in motion this curious out of focus image came out.

The show that I liked the most was the one of the bikers that were introduced in a small metallic sphere and drove inside it, it was very exciting and my children were very nervous, they were really excited.

The children really enjoyed the clowns, which as always gave a touch of humor that we need so much in these times.

Probably my favorite photographic capture was the one below, where you see a young couple of performers and an older couple as spectators, I would call it "driving together". It seems to me the best of all the photos for what it represents, you could see the young people reflected in the artists.
