Celebrating My Beloved Mother’s 57th Birthday

Two weeks ago, my beloved mother celebrated her special day at the house where I have grown. Since it was a weekday so I have to wait until 4:30 pm to be out of my work.

I hurriedly went home for my mother’s birthday when it was already time to go out to my workplace. When I arrived, I quickly changed my uniform as I wore casual attire.

Since it is summer, I just love to wear cool get-ups and as always I so love to wear micro shorts. And so I had my outfit of the day with a pink blouse, pink shorts, and skin tone slippers.

I took a second to be captured by the camera as I stayed outside my house and later on went to my Mother’s house.

Meanwhile, my brother arrived to get me and go to my mother’s house.

My mother was emotional on her natal day.

When I arrived at the house, I have not seen my mother in the living room. I was looking for her everywhere. Until I was surprised when I found her. Although it was her birthday, she was feeling emotional.

I saw my mother crying in the room. She was feeling emotional because she missed my sister so much.

But sad to say that her life cannot be back here on Earth because of the tragedy. That is why, when we designed the tarpaulin for her birthday, we included photos of my late sister, Erika, the youngest in the family.

One of the pictures in the tarpaulin was my mother and my sister hugging each other on her 56th birthday, and that was last year. The memory was vividly clear when my late sister was with us on May 30, 2022.

Being the youngest, she was once very close to my mother. Until this moment, my mother is still in deep anguish for losing my dearest sister at the most expected time.

While she was upstairs, we were busy preparing the decorations, the food, and all the preparations for her birthday as we were also expecting family, friends, and relatives.

This is me busy preparing for the gathering as I arranged the food and placed the balloons on the walls. My brother took a photo while I was busy preparing for everything.

When all was set, I then asked my mother to go downstairs. We surprised her.

It is evident in the picture that she was crying. Her eyes were full of tears but she tried to smile for us.

I took a lot of photos of her on the table. And here are the other photos I took with her at different angles.

And then, they have candid photos of my dear father together. They are now 33 years of being married and I am happy that my father is now back to our home, as a sad story speaks behind the camera.

I also took a selfie with the backdrop and the food at the table as if I am feeling I am a birthday celebrant.

But my birthday is fast approaching, as I will be adding another year of my life this coming June 24, 2023.

And finally, we had a family photo together with my brother, my mother, and my father, insert my late sister Erika in heaven.

I was emotional too during my mother’s birthday because we badly missed a beloved one who cannot be with us physically.

Indeed, her birthday displayed a lot of emotions, but we could not forget my dear sister. And whenever there are occasions at the house, we are placing an offering at the altar and my mother even brought food as an offer to my sister Erika’s room and even at the cemetery.

I captured the moment when my mother was getting food to be offered in my sister’s room while feeling her presence be with us.

It was a simple celebration but it was a priceless moment to be gathered with family and friends. And here are the foods that we have prepared.

We have prepared a Lechon Baboy or roasted pork. This seemed everyone’s favorite most especially the crispy skin, the tasty ribs, and the yummy belly.

We also prepared beef steak, spaghetti, chicken curry, pork sisig, adobo, humba, and along with a tray of rice.

And then a set of many desserts that included chocolate pops, cheese sticks, macaroons, red velvet cupcakes, meringue, maja blanca, chocolate moist cakes, and all the birthday cakes.

I designed her birthday cake but it was baked by my friend. I just instructed her to have this theme for her birthday.

The cake showed a gorgeous lady surrounded by flowers in bloom. I so love to have a chic cake for my mother.

You know my mother is so simple. She just wants everything in plain. And I must say, I am the opposite of her when it comes to trends and fashion because she loves things to be so simple.

And then my favorite Ube Cake from purple yum, which was given by the boyfriend of my late sister Erika. Although my sister was not around physically, still he kept bonding with us and I could feel that he is like my younger brother too.

This day may be full of mixed emotions but somehow my mother was very happy about our sweet surprise. My only wish is for my mother to heal at the most perfect time along with good health and long life. Happy 57th birthday to my beloved mother!
