Although no one notices
Image
Although no one notices, she
She has something in her eyes,
Every time I see her smile,
My soul trembles,
For in her eyes I always see
Contained the tears,
How well she knows how to hide it!
That's why she deceives everyone,
Those around her, even that one!
Whom she supposedly loves.
They see the light of her smile:
Morning star twinkling in the morning,
I see the pale gleam
Of a light that slowly fades,
In her eyes the gleam
Of a silver moonlit night,
I simply see a sea
Serene sea of crystalline tears,
For no one saw what I saw,
Her smile shining brighter than the dawn,
Nor saw her eyes when she had
The fire of love in her eyes,
Nor saw her dance in the air,
And fly like a white dove,
When she fluttered with youth,
And always laughed with laughter,
When she said she was mine,
And shyly rested in my arms,
When she ran away in silence
And daily sought me out
To give me a tender kiss,
A kiss of love in the early morning.
What did they do to you sweet love?
Who clipped your wings?
Who caused you to sink
In the sea of despair?
Looking at you from afar I wonder:
Does anyone know how the soul is repaired
When it is broken into a thousand pieces?
Can anyone console a heart
When it slowly bleeds out?
What can I do to help you?
At this point, I can do nothing.
Perhaps I will appear in your dreams
And say to you: Fear not, sweet beloved,
Just as I did on those nights,
When I held you tightly,
Perhaps I can send you my kisses,
Butterflies of light in the distance,
And in a mysterious way
Feel them brush your lips,
With their wings.
