End of May Balcony/Community Garden Plot Update

Hello, gardening friends! It's the end of May and there is some life in my balcony/community garden! :)

It's still been rather chilly lately (it snowed like a week ago), so this is really still just the start. I have that pot of lovely petunia night sky flowers because I bought them already started, hee hee. Everything else I've been starting from seed.

This is what I'm using as Yuan's new outdoor grass flat. Hopefully he likes it. I thought he might lay in it (as he often does with his grass flats) as it's kind of like a basket with one open side. This is five days difference in growth; grass comes in quickly. :)

I have a new elm tree sprout!!! Y'all might remember a while back I had an elm tree growing in a pot for three years, but then she succumbed to spider mites despite my best efforts. Another seed blew into my community garden box this time, and I brought it inside and planted it in a pot in the window. Yay new tree friend!! :D

I've got a bunch of seedlings coming up now. Above is cilantro/coriander in a pot on the balcony; to the right are scarlet clover seeds in my community garden box. I've also got tomatoes, pumpkin, and turnip in there sprouting! So exciting!!

You can tell I only watered where the seedlings were in this photo, lol, as I carried my little watering can downstairs to do it. The water was off on the spout where they normally provide a hose. Since the hose was so leaky it got me almost as wet as my garden box the last time I used it, perhaps it is off until they get a new hose. So I've been toting my watering can down the stairs.

Obligatory cute cat on the balcony photo:

stopped mid-clean to react to a noise out on the street

So that's it from here in the balcony garden! Thanks for reading! :)
