NAM SON PAGODA ⛩
Location
One of the larger pagodas, Nam Son Pagoda is situated not far from the city center of Da Nang on Nguyen Kha Trac Street in Hoa Chau, Hoa Vang. It was erected in 1962 by the Buddhist Nguyen Van Chau and Buddhist in the area and has been standing for more than 50 years. The temple has undergone numerous repairs, and now that Venerable Thich Hue Phong is serving as the abbot, it also features a distinctive design created by the master himself.
The temple's campus, which has a total size of more than 10,000 square meters and is divided into numerous regions, is very green and serene thanks to the abundance of trees and flowers. When you come here, all your troubles appear to vanish, and the atmosphere also improves and becomes more laid back.
Due to its stunning but equally imposing surroundings, the temple is now not only a popular spot for Buddhists to visit but also a popular attraction for tourists visiting Da Nang. Numerous Buddhists visit the temple on the occasion of the yearly New Year to burn incense and make prayers for a year filled with peace and happiness.
There are numerous distinct places of the temple that are quite easy for visitors to explore and snap pictures in. I will introduce you to each place.
There are numerous distinct places of the temple that are quite easy for visitors to explore and snap pictures in. I will introduce you to each place.
From the main entrance, you can see the exquisitely carved stone slabs of the Arhats, and below them are depictions of lotus blossoms that are similarly carved and embossed, which is typical of the historic central pagoda architecture.
Phong Sanh Lake
The first area is Phong Sanh Lake. This is where you will see when entering the temple, Phong Sanh Lake is located in the center with clear blue water. Under the lake are fish and turtles released by Buddhists.
In the middle of the lake is a communal house, divided into many paths to facilitate visiting the surrounding places.
Vong Nguyet Communal House
This is the place to watch the moon, this is one of the locations with an open view, covering everything around, standing here you can see the sky, the blue of the flower garden and the schools of fish. swimming in the lake.
Tripitaka Bridge
Turn left, where you will be is the Tripitaka Bridge, built in 2010, crossing Tinh Nghiep Lake, stretching from East to West. The length of the bridge is not too large, but this is a place that tourists love when coming to the temple, the yellow orange brick of the bridge emerging on the green background of the surrounding grass is a highlight in the garden.
Lantern Tree
A place to make Nam Son pagoda, which is compared to Hoi An in the middle of Da Nang city, is the lantern tree. Right in front of the right hand side of the main hall, the lanterns hanging on the tree are a special highlight at night.
Main Hall
The best design can possibly be found in the main hall. According to the rules of the temple, you are only permitted to snap photos outside and not within the main hall. Visitors are impressed by the stunning scene that is created by the majestic majesty and exquisite craftsmanship.
Gardern 🍃 🌻
You can stroll through the temple's garden and take in the natural greenery provided by the many flowers and trees. You'll feel as at ease in the garden's grandeur as you would if you were lost in a forest. There are a variety of swings in the garden so you may take a break and relax or simply take in the scenery. Beautiful little stone statues adorn the landscape around them. The sound of water murmuring may also be heard from a little aquarium in the midst of the garden, which is incredibly relaxing to listen to.
Guest house area
You are welcome to relax here while also receiving free water to drink. After viewing the temple, you may take in the surrounding environment in its entirety thanks to the open space architecture.
When visiting Nam Son Pagoda, keep these things in mind
o When entering the temple, one must be respectful and refrain from swearing.
o Make no noise as you move slowly.
o When entering the temple, avoid wearing shorts or skirts that are too short to cover your knees.
o The outside areas, including the flower gardens, are only open to photography and filming.
o Visitors are prohibited from filming or taking photos in the main halls and auxiliary halls.
If it's too hot outside, you can utilize the Palm-leaf conical hat and umbrellas that are provided within the temple. If by chance you arrive wearing the wrong attire, you can don a blue shirt. Additionally, there are lockers available for you to store your belongings, and everything is, of course, free.
Nam Son Pagoda is the only temple currently in the city with a floating pagoda design in the middle of the lake. Visitors come here not just for the sake of purification and pilgrimage but also to take in the temple's distinctive artistic qualities. There is no shortage of elegance and calm in the construction of Nam Son Pagoda, which embodies a synthesis between majesty and antiquity. Because of that, both local and international tourists—especially devotees of Buddhism—come to this location. Hopefully, you will have the opportunity to visit Da Nang and the pagoda in the future. This is a location where you can find calm in the middle of a busy existence.

Wow That's a big pagoda, I love the idea that some parts of the pagoda are built on the water, then we can see the fish when we walk through.
