PROCRASTINATION

I think a lot. And for some years now I have been wondering about a particular thing. The difference between 'procrastination' and 'waiting for the right time'. A popular quote talks about 'striking when the iron is hot'. So what defines hotness? How do I know if I am just procrastinating and not just waiting for the iron to get hot enough?

Peradventure I ought to prepare for an examination or invest in a profitable venture and I do not feel motivated to do so yet, would the delay be regarded as me waiting for the 'perfect timing', 'wisely calculating the risks' or a bad case of procrastination.
I desire to know where the line is between the good decision of trying to be ready for something before taking a step and the bad decision of procrastination. Perhaps there is no difference between the two. Maybe one can only decide if a delay is the right decision by the resultant outcome.
What this portends is that a delay that proves beneficial is not regarded as procrastination but one that leads to a loss either of time, energy or resources is seen as procrastination. The problem with this assumption, however, is that a conclusion can only be made after the effect has already been established. In this case, this effect is usually irreversible and you are left with the outcome of your decisions and/or indecisions.

We (Hungarians) used to say "What you can do today, do not delay to tomorrow". Maybe there is a similar saying in English. Merry Christmas. Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.
There's a popular saying by American writer and inventor, Benjamin Franklin that: "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today". I think the subject cuts across all cultures and life endeavours.
Thanks a lot for sharing your opinion. I wish you the best of the Yuletide season...❤️❤️❤️ Merry Christmas!
