The Gang is Back, Breaking the Limits... .:. Recap of Hive Humpday Hangout SE #08 (Wednesday, August 28, 2024)

I'm very proud of one particular thing about the Hive Humpday Hangout show... It is a live-stream "talk show" like many others, or a podcast type if you want to call it like that, but it is a bit different... One of the big differences is that we have these "special edition" shows where there is no script, there is no exact topic of the show, and where the audience (the more appropriate word is participants) can raise the topic during the show, come on the microphone, share something, ask something... These "SE" shows are all about the participants, while in regular shows participants can engage with guests or a host too, but about prederminated topics...

It sounds scary for the host, as everything is happening live, but it's interesting that all participants are very respectful and always there to help each other, and encourage and support... All that gives you a sort of freedom to express yourself and maybe break some personal limits to get out of your comfort zone... So, occasionally, we have people who join the Discord show for the first time, interact in the chat during the show, or something like we had in this one, coming on the microphone for the first time! We had that a couple of times in these 30-something shows, including myself, doing the first episode of this show!!!

@duskobgd joined the show many times before, but yesterday, he came out on the mic for the first time ever, despite having to talk in not his mother language, and being a shy person! That was great to see and I know that he will much easily repeat that in future shows... He moved his limit a bit further and opened an unknown door which could lead to who-knows-where... Maybe a show run by him? 🙂 You never know what can happen when you learn something new, develop new skills, or beat your fears!

As these special edition shows are not recorded, you can't check the recording and see how it was, so I will try to tell you in a few sentences... Firstly, we had a lot of fun and we had a lot of laughs... The show was around 1.5 hours long and we had multiple people talking and everyone who attended engaged with others in voice, or in the chat room!

First to break the ice was @palomap3 who said before the show that she would have to leave the show earlier... She shared some good news, some bad news, and some great news with us... As she spent her vacation in Andorra, we learned a few things about this interesting small country in Europe, between France and Spain...

After her, @felixxx came on the mic sharing his gardening adventures and some tricks for harvesting "plants", the use of lamps, and other interesting facts about it...

Like I said, @duskobgd came in voice for the first time and talked about his vacation in Greece... As I had some questions about jellyfish, the conversation went in that direction, which reminded @felixxx of an interesting story about his friends "swimming" with jellyfish... 😂 We had a huge laugh on that story... 😂

The show was a great place for @duskobgd to share his big accomplishment of reaching 3K HivePower, and we celebrated that together with him! Congratulations once again, buddy!!!

@quekery is our occasional participant (I hope we will see him even more in the future!) and he shared how he spent his summer vacation... It was more about moving to a different place as he got a new job, but he also shared his impressions of Hive Meetup in Aachen which was a bit more than a month ago (or more?)... He had an unfortunate moment on his way back from the meetup, but I hope that it will not ruin his memory of good times with other Hivians...

As I got a question about the Novi Sad Meetup, I shared a few things about how it was, with the hope that it will be better next time... :) I mean, it was great, but the weather was crazy as it was too hot... Maybe next year it will be better... As we were talking about meetups, we had to mention the upcoming HiveFest, but also the current crypto market movements, the HIVE price, the long-term view of things, and the importance of zooming out...

At the very end of the show, similar to @incublus's show, we made a short excursion into different languages, trying to improve our communication skills... 😃

Being the first show after the long break, and still during the summer, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of participants! It was great to see the #HHHLive gang again, @bulkathos, @coolmidwestguy, @duskobgd, @felixxx, @foxkoit, @melinda010100, @mypathtofire, @ninaeatshere, @palomap3, @quekery, @relf87, and @sacra97! Thanks everyone for participating!!!
