Eyes OFF the Prize! .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 145
I know that the title sounds ridiculous, but please, hear me out... It makes a lot of sense when you hear examples and problems with it... I do "preach" keeping the focus and sorting out priorities, which sounds counterproductive to this title, but it's not... The idea from this post came from another Hivian (which I don't want to reveal this time), but he was coming on and off the platform multiple times in the past...
Why's that? I know that many of you came here on HIVE with the idea of earning money by doing things on the blockchain... I came here as I found Splinterlands and I wanted to earn some money by playing the game... After that, I discovered the blogging part of the platform and tried that too, with the same goal, with the same focus, to EARN money... I was trying all possible "strategies" that probably a lot of you tried (and maybe still trying)... Like, going to comment on as many as possible posts, in the hope that they will come to mine and upvote them... Or, changing my post topics just to find the "golden niche" that will make me rich... Of course, I failed in all those attempts...

Why did that happen? I didn't leave the platform, but I was "experimenting" with all these things... On the other side, my friend left, took a break, and came back with another idea... But, why have we failed over and over again? We had the wrong focus...
I was always checking out the Trending page and dreaming about getting those big whale upvotes that would launch me to the stars... The numbers hypnotized me, I was keeping my EYES on the prize all the time, ignoring some more important things happening in the meantime... While I was "monkey-dancing" to attract whale upvotes, I was losing valuable friends who were growing at the same pace as me... Instead of going on THEIR posts and supporting THEM, I was chasing "big whales"... The problem is that I wasn't alone, and a lot of small accounts were, and still, doing that...
Luckily, I jumped out from that phase and moved my eyes off the prize, focusing on people who are on the same journey as me, with similar interests... As much as my time allows me, I do check new people who engage with me... Are they committed to the platform, are they authentic, do they want to grow, etc? If YES, I join them on their journey as we are traveling with the same train!!! Keeping eyes OFF the prize, but keeping eyes on each other!!!
Back to the Workerbeee report numbers!
We had some good news and some bad news... The good news is that we got a new delegator to the pool, which is @stickupcash!!! Welcome to the pool! On the other side, one investor undelegated their tokens, so our pool shrank a bit... But, as we are distributing what we mine, the APR and distribution goes to those who are in the pool... So no worries...
Also, we got some new WORKERBEE delegations from existing members, which is always nice to see! Thanks for your trust!
In the last 7 days, we mined 131 BEE tokens in total!!!
This POOL doesn't have fees and you get up to 20% MORE by delegating to it!
What about the bonus tokens?
I heard from some "crypto experts" that we have bottomed in crypto and the only way is up from this point... While I did some nice buys a month or two ago, which already paid off, I do think that some of the tokens will never recover... As I don't have a crystal ball, I have no idea which ones will do that... But, some could bounce up nicely... So, it's not a bad approach to have some tokens that were going down in the bear market as they could be very close to the bottom... The CTP token, the token that I will distribute as a bonus, is one of those hardly-hit tokens... The token owner is still around, so it has a chance to bounce, but nothing is for sure... Disclaimer: I do have CTP tokens in my bags, but I'm not affiliated with them and I'm just an "ordinary investor" like anyone else...
There will be distributed 6500 CTP tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!
As always, in the end, let's give the exact numbers for this week... There will be distributed 131 BEE tokens and 6500 CTP tokens as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 6.82%, and when we added the bonus it went up to 8.058%!
I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens at the moment of creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...

That is some great advice. You will be able to rely on those friends for regular support more than the whale votes that do things on a whim and do not look at the smaller accounts usually.
Whale upvotes come and go... friends stay... friends care about you and your growth... as you are growing together... as a team...
Simple as that... :)
I learned about this blockchain in May 2017 on the bitcointalk forum (at that time I participated in several ICOs). Then I registered on Golos (a fork of Steemit). I fell in love with Hive in 2022 thanks to Splinterlands and Hive-Engine.
It looks like you had a wild ride on this blockchain... THe saga continues... :)
The CTP team keeps sticking it out. I hope that they can continue on because I think they bring value.

Better to travel accompanied by a few faithful friends than to have a legion of followers who abandon you at the first oversight.

It looks like Ecency has some issues... It works on Peakd... Weird...
Now works. But ecency? I think it was inleo...
I have no idea where was the problem exactly, but at that moment images were visible on Peakd and not on Ecency... Didn't test InLEO...
tbh, I think that issue was with hive.blog... but seriously... as images were hosted there and we had a similar issue not that long ago.. :)
Uh ... this is normal bug :)) ... just put it up in Ecency # help room that photo is not out and they look in it to fix .
I remember finding out I can earn money by doing posts on steemit website and I got instantly hooked, then Splinterlands came out and I got instantly hooked to that aswell.
It's crazy to think how much time ago it was when I joined this wonderful ecosystem and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.
Splinterlands was a true goldmine for me, I invested only what I earned from blogging into it and at the peak of the bullmarket my collection was worth more than everything I owned total in real life (But I did not cashout even 5% of it, I still have most of my stuff).
To this time on Hive (and back in Steem) I have never really explored into the tokens that earn passive yield, until recently when I have started accumulating different community tokens and staking them.

When Hive-Engine was launched I was surprised to see that almost none of our Hive whales was investing in any of the tokens... After this long bear market, when I see most of the tokens on their knees, I realize that maybe they weren't wrong at all... 😃
It's like with BTC and altcoins... Every1 tries to find that "golden opportunity" by buying altcoins left and right, while those who just HODLed BTC earned a lot more by doing nothing...
BTW, don't get me wrong... I was in the group that was buying H-E tokens... lol... 😃
First part with looking for whales uppvotes, checking them and wallet reminds gold rush. And honestly I think bit could be in someone's cases.
If to talk Splinterlands of course I know people who associate it with earnings but for me it's first of all game and collecting. Even considering that fact that couple cards in my deck are worth more than 10000$ and it can solve some of my problems...
You pointed out two examples... The first one is chasing whales upvotes, and the second one is a "collector itch", or accumulation addiction... :) That happened to me too with some tokens... You just want to collect and accumulate, and can't recognize the best time to sell them and take some profits... And if you want to invest in crypto, that's probably one of the most important lessons...
Hmm 🤔 You know maybe at current moment I fell into another trap that pleases my alter ego. In the sense that it is not the desire to make a profit that commands here, but the little inner child who pleases himself with the fact that he has something that is currently worth something. And yet there are less than 50 of these available on the market. But now, having reread it, I understand that it’s probably still worth thinking about and analyzing how correct behavior is in this case.

I kind of gave up on the whale votes and I go around with the content that I want to write. It just looks like they are quite rare.

I would say that most whales gave up on supporting people at all (except a few curation accounts)... They are upvoting HBDstabilizer comments instead, so the best way is to do what you are doing... Create content that you like and engage with people that you appreciate... ;)

I hope you believe me, but I barely look at this trending page, I don't want to say that there are bad things up there, but for some reason this page has not attracted me very much to go in there not now, and not even before. But for this I follow many users everywhere in HIVE world, so my feed contains lot posts and I sit 99% all time on my feed :)) and I take posts there who I upvote , it also means small ones get also my upvotes and my Upvotes just not go in trending pages posts where is already given a lot for them.
I tell also lot this when I have find new users to tell them to come here in, not follow upvotes, try think what you can post every day or every two days so your pages all time works , and this big things fill come in anyway for you if you always use Hive pages in HIVE world.
That's good advice and it lines up with this post topic... Don't waste time in checking numbers, but instead, do what you like and what works for you... ;) If you are doing a good job, results will come...

I like that! I see a lot of small minnows whose main excuse to NOT accumulate HivePower is that they are small and they can't do it... The point is to "Try" to do it... You can always find some spare Hive to power up... It can be 5-10% of your post payout, but it accumulates over time...
Instead of doing that, they don't even try... just power down all, and continue with selfish content creation without supporting others... It can work in the short term, but not for a long time...
Unfortunately this is the reality, my man, spending instantly instead of saving. They will regret it when the bull season comes :P

Of course, most of us did that... This platform was SOLD to us as a money-making machine... Only those who realized (and accepted!) that it's not, stayed on the platform... And that number isn't big... That's why it's important to market HIVE in a different way and not like a get-rich-quick scheme...
