Making my new free and beautiful gown, for our Church Convention program.

Hello needleworkers

Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening, were ever you all are and what ever your time says now, please just do me a favour to choose one, How are you doing today, hope all is well, I wish you all a happy and bless day, at this medium i want to share with you all on the process of how i Make my new free and beautiful gown, for our Church Convention program.

Due to the announcement in our church that all the choristers including the Sunday school choristers should prepare their drama to present and the second day will be a cultural day, so i start preparing for a free gown because through out the Convention week i will be so busy so i have to use this chance that i great for myself and make some outfit for myself.

I went to my customer shop and bought this beautiful African fabric 6 yards.
This African fabric is nice i really like the color, not too shap and not too dim, i folded the fabric by two equal part, i took my full length and half length, i measured my burst divided by four and at the point i measured by body then i devided by four too, i took my arm hold length and the neck length and width, after that i put 3 inches for sewing allowance and i minus 1 inch for shoulder slob.

After drafting i cut it out

I fold the fabric again by two equal parts, i pit in 2 inches for zipper allowance before i placed the front on it and i cut exactly as the front part.

After cutting out.

After finishing wirh the cutting i firstly used a bias and turned the neckline both back and front.

Then i now put the zip at the back side.

And i went ahead and join the shouder and the body.

After that the next thing to do is to prepare a sleeves, and i will be using a nude color of net and the hem of the sleeves will be a flair.
So i fold the nude color net by four and i took the length measurement and the width then i cut them out.

I now fold the fabric in to four and i took the length of the flair and i draft it down.

After drafting it i cut them out.

I now used a bias and turn the hem of the flair inside and i joined them on the hem of the sleeves.

After i finished preparing the sleeves i now fixed them on the dress and closed the armhole to the body of the dress and i bend the hem of the dress.

So here is the outcome of my free dress.

Like i said, it really really simple, so beautiful i like it hope you like it too.

I'm so greatfull to you reading through my post, thank you so much, remain bless, you guys later.

Your gown turned out beautifully, so simple but elegant, and I absolutely love the fabric! Using bias binding at the neck and hems gives such a lovely clean finish doesn't it. xx

I love how you aligned the front pattern to that design on the fabric, it gave it a unique touch, and the overall lol is beautiful, well-done sis.
