Rose garden and memories 🌹
Tomorow marks the equinox, when day and night are both roughly 12 hours long in most of the world.
With the bright part of days on the northern hemisphere getting shorter every day after that, this also marks the official arrival of the fall.
I thought I’d take the advantage of dry weather and visit the rose garden close to my home while the flowers are still in bloom.
The color above looks familiar to everyone who’s checked the crypto markets today.
I prefer the ratio of green vs. red on this one up here.
This last one looks like rosehip to me (although I’m not 100% sure) and it brings back some childhood memories - there was plenty of rosehip in the area where I grew up, and in the autumn when the rosehip berries would ripen, we’d do a family trip to the mountains nearby to pick them and dry them for tea or turn them into a homemade jam. We’d also go and pick blackberries as there were really plenty of them growing.
Back then, I wasn’t a huge fan of these activities but today I really see the value of it - first, spending some time in the nature with loved ones, then doing something useful with premium grade ingredients.
Let’s see if I manage to get some forest fruits this year. Over the last few months, I already made some homemade elderflower syrup, strawberry jam and homemade cough syrup made out of spruce tips. And I should thank my sister for growing the best tomatoes I’ve tried around here, and my mom for making a stash of homemade tomato sauce.
Beautiful flower thank you for sharing.
