Needlework: sewing a simple sleeveless outfit for myself
Hello My Needleworkers
Happy Wednesday everyone. How are you all doing today i hope you all are doing great. I am very happy to share a post here with you guys on how i sew a simple sleeveless outfit for my self. I am a fashion designer and is very bad that i don't have much dress for my outing, the dress i have is no more sizing me again, because i'm getting fatter than before, since i am a nursing mother.
It is also very had for me to make an outfit for my self because my baby is really disturbing me, crying and many others so it is not really easy for me, but thank God i was able to make one simple outfit for myself.
I had a little left over material that my mum gave to me, so since i don't have much dress i choose to make this simple sleeveless outfit for my self. I choose this style because of the weather, here is very hot, so that is why i choose something that will be free in my body and not something that will make me feel heat.
Here is the material
Material i use for this dress
- 3 yards of ankara
- black bayer
- black thread
- sewing machine
- scissors
- fancy bottin etc.
Let look at some simple process i follow to make this simple outfit.
Measurements needed are full length, Shoulder, half length, body etc.
The front
Firstly, folded the material in two, and then measure out the shoulder, half length and the full length from there i mark out my body shape. I then draft out neck and the shoulder curve and also include allowance when drafting.
This dress is actually an A cut dress, i did not want the A cut to be too fley, so i reduce it and cut it out.
The back
To cut out the back, i folded the fabric into two and then place the front on top of it and i also open the back so that the neck can be wider, i then open the back by 4 inches so that it can pass my head.
Here is it
I then cut it out.
Sewing process
I joined the shoulder and the body of the dress together with the help of my sewing machine, i also turn the neck and the sholder with black bayers.
Here is the bayers
After that i then join the body together.
After joining the body , i then insect the side pucket to the dress so that i can put my phone and other things in case i am not with hand bag.
I finally bend the arm if the dress and here is the outcome of the dress.
How do you see the dress on my body, hope it looks beautiful.
Thanks everyone for stopping by, your comment and support means alot to me.
See you soon.
I love the simplicity of this dress, it looks confortable and fresh, I also like the pockets.

I don’t understand why seamstress sew simple styles for themselves all the time.
At least for you ,you’ve even sewed some, others don’t even sew for themselves at all in the name of they don’t have time🤣🤣🤣
Is true that we the seamstress have a hard time to sew for ourselves, thank you for your comment
You really do need more comfy dresses to be comfortable in them while nursing your baby.
Well done dear
Thank you so much dear

It looks so pretty. I love the pattern on the fabric.
I congratulate you it looks beautiful and above all very fresh, in my family there is a saying that goes: in the blacksmith's house the knife is made of spade and it is that almost always happens like that, one is dedicated to work and we leave it to the background.
I congratulate you for your baby and for dedicating the time he deserves, although sometimes we would like a moment for ourselves, I wouldn't change my experiences as a mother for anything.
