My working steps/Experience In cutting of a princess dart bustier.

Warm greetings to you all

Happy and blessed Friday to the great people of #needlework community, hope you have a blissful and happy day.

It my pleasure to share with you all my yesterday work, the steps and experience during the process of drafting and cutting of a Princess dart bustier with joining "A "cut flay.

My neighbor's daughter just came to me yesterday being Thursday asking me to help her out with this cutting, she's an apprentice, 6month now in her sewing work, as she came to me i humbly asked her, why don't you take it to your boss lady to show you on how to cut it? She said, she have already took it to her and she asked her to pay and she don't have money to pay and her boss decided not to cut for her, hmmm, i really don't know about their agreement, but i decided to show her for free.
Although i haven't go through this before, but through YouTube, i login YouTube that same day for us to watch together, then we fellow up from there.

Like i said before that sewing work base on cutting, i was about to reject it but i determine to learn it, because if i don't learn i will not know, one thing i realize im this life is that determination is the key to success, once you determine to do the right thing you most succeed in it, so i determine and decided to know how to cut a princess dart bustier despite the fact that i haven't cut it before, i only cut only the dart and not with bustier, after watching from YouTube we started working immediately, With the little experience that i had in princess dart, it helps me moving forward to it.

The main procedure

***Here is the material that I'm working with.

I folded the fabric into two equal parts, i took down the half length measurement, after that i measureed out the body by dividing it by two, this includes the side bustier and the middle, so i just have all the body and burst shape before i moved down to the main work whichis the burst point, i quickly moved down to the hem point of the half length, i took out the dart width, which is 7 inches and the length is from the hem to the hamhold point, but i measured from the hamhold shoulder down to 5 inches, from there i measured the nipples to nipples point which is 10inches width, so it easy for me to connect the dart, the i added 2 inches from the hem of the middle bustier till the inner burst, then from there i give out a corve.

After cutting it out

It took me a lot of time to finish drafting because ot my first time in trying this bustier, i even used another material to try it before using the main fabric, after cutting out the front i moved to the back side, i foled the fabric again in two, i put down 2 inches for zipper allowance, then i took the burst and body measurements by dividing them by two after that i measured the dart, 7 inches width, i measured the shoulder and the hamhold length is 8incches and also the neck, after all the drafting process i cut it out.

After cutting it out

This really took me some time because i didn't want to miss this opportunity, therefore i was planning to try to style on my fabrics incase one of my clients needed, i was using this opportunity to know what i didn't know, i really love sewing work and i don't want to miss any because i love to learn from things i don't know, after finishing with the upper half length, i asked her if she will cut the joining flay and she asked me to cut it too, so i folded the fabric in two and i took the body measurements plus the 2 inches allowance the i cut it out, and i show her how to turn with lining.

After turning with lining

She was really happy that i help her without billing her, and she said will finish sewing this week and i can't wait to see the final results.

With the experience of this cutting, i believe myself that i will be more creative next time in drafting and cutting, i come to realize that people have their own different pattern of cutting, i realized that creating patterns for clothing production is a skilled practice, still drafting, still cutting, still sewing, we all are moving forward to it and we shall succeed, hope my explanation will help you one day.

Thank you all for reading through my post.
