The Queen of England has died, a woman who for many decades ruled the destiny of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. I don't live in those countries, but I recognize that the influence of this queen marked the 20th century to a large extent.

Ha muerto la Reina de Inglaterra, una mujer que por muchas décadas rigió el destino del Reino Unido y la Commonwealth. No vivo en esos países, pero reconozco que la influencia de esta reina marcó el Siglo XX en buena medida.

Today, for me, is day 909 since the quarantine was announced in #Venezuela due to the #COVID-19 #pandemic, but for the subjects of the British Crown it is a day of great impact: Queen Elizabeth II, born as Elizabeth, has died Alexandra Mary on April 21 (1926), was crowned on 1952 (February 6), and ruled for 70 years and 214 days. A record in terms of duration, she saw nations being born and empires fall, she lived through the time of World War II, she saw the rise of nuclear powers, she led her country during the Cold War, she lived through the cultural and social transformation of liberation sexual, the rise of feminism, the Hippie movements of the 70s and the advent of the Yuppie in the 80s, saw the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics #USSR, as well as the rise of the new global left in the 21st century.
A long life, full of great events and minor episodes, mistakes and successes, regrets and joys, a very human life after all. With the difference that being a public figure, her life was always exposed to public scrutiny, questioning by the court and parliament, and subjected to almost sick surveillance by the press.
I would have to say: Long Live the King, but it doesn't really sit well with me to say that. I prefer to use the title of the last presentations of the great Freddie Mercury and say goodbye to this era that dies with it with a clear "Long Live (the) Queen"

Hoy, para mí es el día 909 desde que se anunció la cuarentena en #Venezuela por la #pandemia de #Covid19, pero para los súbditos de la Corona Británica es un día de gran impacto: Ha muerto la Reina Elizabeth II, nacida como Elizabeth Alexandra Mary el 21 de abril de 1926, fue coronada el 6 de febrero de 1952 y gobernó durante 70 años y 214 Días. Todo un récord en cuanto a duración, ella vio nacer naciones y caer imperios, vivió la época de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, vio el ascenso de las potencias nucleares, dirigió su país durante la Guerra Fría, vivió la transformación cultural y social de la liberación sexual, el ascenso del feminismo, los movimientos Hippie de los 70 y el advenimiento de los Yuppie en los 80, vio la caída del Muro de Berlín y el desplome de la Unión de Repúblicas Socialista Soviéticas #URSS, tanto como vio también el surgimiento de la nueva izquierda mundial en el Siglo XXI.
