The girl in the mirror

Sometimes I wonder if I can ever be like the girl in the mirror or if I will ever get the chance to meet her, but it would be really nice if I could.

Hi, I'm Vera. It was never like this. I was this sharp, beautiful, intelligent girl who was loved by her parents and everyone around her. But things changed when I lost my mom in a fatal accident that almost took both our lives, but they were able to save me, but mom didn't survive it. We were coming back from our vacation when the incident happened, and I woke up to the news that my mom couldn't survive it. At that point, I was devastated. It was as if my world had crumbled, and I became the shadow of myself.

Ever since that day things never remained the same, i became worse after dad got remarried, at first my step mother was nice to me then all of a sudden she became a beast in human form, and dad would always support her eveil deeds, he would often say
"Oh you, this evil child, you want to kill my wife just as you killed your mother. If you are not careful and do what you are asked to do, I will throw you out of my house.
Whenever he says that, I always cry and wish Mom was here. but that didn't change anything. I got used to the new life and lived with it; I became a slave in my father's house. What a life! I was moved from my room to the empty room that was on the roof. My first night there was really scary, but I had to manage until I got used to it. I had a small mirror in my room where I would look at a once beautiful young lady who had always wanted to make everyone proud, but now it was like those dreams were shattered. When I look into the mirror, I always see the happy girl, but in reality, she was never happy.

"Veraaaaaa would you come down here this minute, why are you still in bed by this time aunt viv would scream

"I'm sorry aunt viv i slept really late last night, i'm really sorry

"Don't you ever call me Aunt Viv again; you address me as Madam Viv, is that clear?

"Yes, madam Viv, I will get to my chores now.

I guess luck is on my side today, because the normal Viv I know would have given me a dirty slap, but who am I to complain? My father, who was the only person left, looked like he was bewitched or something. One thing I am still grateful for is that he didn't ask me to stop school. I have heard Viv tell him to withdraw me from school, but he said he wouldn't do that.

There was this faithful day when I got home from school, and i met my dad by the door like he was about going out he just looked at me with no love in his eyes and called me evil child and left, that really broke me, just then madam viv came out and gave me a deadly glare thing next thing she said got me really angry, i ran to my room and went straight to my mirror, i was crying here but the girl in the mirror was as calm as a dove and she was filled with laughter and joy. When will I ever be like the girl in the mirror?
