This week's Weekend Ranked was like an unusual ups and downs of emotions and, for me, it's already over. Besides the fact that I didn't have enough skill (or luck) to pass from Solar Gold before the event, I didn't start off in the best way; but thanks to a wizard savior I pulled myself together in the end, and in what a way!
It all ended with 13 wins, however, the sensations that this WR left me in its denouement are quite good. What started as a score of five wins and five losses (Saturday) ended with eight consecutive wins (10 if we count the two additional daily play and earn). Enough to reach the conquests mentioned at the beginning of the paragraph.
El desarrollo | The road
Unfortunately I couldn't react in time with the aggro light that had been working so well for me these last months. Even though I won the first two games, I went on a bad streak of five losses in a row that devastated me. I know now that I was playing aggro light too much; maybe it just wasn't my day.
Today I woke up differently and dusted off the control magic that I hadn't used for long enough. It's a simple deck (if memory serves me correctly I've published a couple of posts with some variations of this same archetype) that is mainly based on holding out as many turns as possible, trying to take advantage, whenever possible, of the effect of the Crystaltech Scholar and combining Flame of the Second Shattering with *Pyrrhic Knowledge. * The change definitely worked: in the 10 games I used it, I faced all kinds of decks, from zombies to aggros, others control magic and a big relic war.
El mazo | The deck
The deck I employed is nothing special, but it's something I'm very used to playing and I think that helped me significantly. Mage is my favorite domain in the game, even though I didn't use it much in recent times, and my Mage deck has always been similar since MJ edition started. The only relevant change since then was the addition of two Pyrrhic Knowledge, which I now consider indispensable.

The way to play it, as I mentioned above, is to hold the first turns. As long as the opponent does not have another control deck, with seven mana gems released (turn nine) is almost a guaranteed victory. That is why the Crystaltech Scholar are very important. So are the Flame of the Second Shattering, a pair of finisher spells par excellence.
A detail that on a couple of occasions saved me in the last breath, and that makes a big difference, is that it would be best to save the extra mana gem (or one of them if we start the game as seconds) for when we are ready to give the lethal blow with the combination of Flame (four mana) and the two Pyrrhic (six mana each). A simple operation, Flame (4) + Pyrrhic (3) + Pyrrhic (3) = we are the fucking winners (10 mana), which without the small bag of tricks could not be possible.

Wow! 10-0 is very impressive, this deck is indeed very stong. I would love to have it but I don't have Pyrrhic Knowledge.
It is worth making an effort to buy the Pyrrhic. It is currently the mage's best spell, no doubt about it.
Indeed, there's no doubt about it. I came to know Pyrrhic when FakeMews won a tournament with it.
saludos mi pana que buen mazo intentare armar alfo asi
Gracias, Fino. Espero que sea de ayuda. 💪
wow 10-0 . This deck is super strong. I'm missing kaya , serris and helmna if not I would give this deck a try. Anyways congratz bro well done with the weekend event as well.
The truth is that the three creatures you mention are replaceable. The backbone of the deck is the Crystaltech, Flame and Pyrrhic.
If you have that, you could try a variant.
ooooo but I only have 1 Pyrrhic :( haha. got lucky with a pack on that one when it came out
