Hello fellow @ladiesofhive. I want to commend the admins for such a sensitive and important contest topic for the week.

In some parts of the world, we have on daily basis seen laws and orders that always trampled on the rights of the female folks.
Remember the Bible story of the woman caught in adultery? I asked where was the man she was caught with?

In some African countries, we see and hear laws against women who are caught in adultery and some are even blamed for the death of their husbands but nobody has ever asked about the man she was in the act with neither is a man ever blamed for the death of his wife instead, he will be encouraged to take a new wife immediately to enable him cope with her demise.

Base on the news of today's contest, I will also give my own view.

What do I think about news of sort?

As humans, we are bond to make mistakes once in a while. I'm sure the lady knows about the law and couldn't have deliberately left a strand of her hair open.
When I read about the news, I was heartbroken because I see a bright future being destroyed over mere mistake that could have been pardoned.
I see the life mothers of great nations being cut short because through her, many would have been born

Do I think I could ever live in such a conservative society?

Never! Not that I immorally dressed but I am someone who loves her freedom and hate to be compressed or oppressed.

Would I even consider briefly visiting such a country with such laws?


I don't want to even think of visiting talk more of considering the idea.
It's a no for me because I may not last due to my free minded personality and can't bottle up my expressions. Hence, I may break their laws from the point of arrival 😆

How can we assist such women who cannot afford to flee to a safe place?

Starting a GoFundMe account for such less privileged women will raise alarm that will endanger them even the more because such countries with those laws have their eyes and ears everywhere.
So I will suggest we advice to be conscious of their environment and try by all means to avoid breaking the laws.

Or if anyone is flamboyant enough to fund one at a time to escape such an environment, it will be good

You just nailed the truth summarily. I can never stay in such a country too. I just have pity on the poor women that resides in such environment even if they don't have food they will have plenty of scarf. Why is religion so gone to the extreme?

A great contribute, this is so encouraging and the truth be said, the lady knows about the laws of the land but it's that enough to give her such ill treatment that lead to her death. Hmmm, God knows best.

It's really frustrating when we are not free to express ourselves the way we want to but then, it's always good to put certain things in consideration when loving our personal freedom, sometimes we might be too elaborate or don't you think so?

Indeed, we also have our own reality! In Africa, only wives die, and men are immortal. Women who cheat are adulteresses. Men who cheat are justified. They are naturally polygamous. Even in the Bible, Esau, Jacob, Elkanah, David, Samuel, and Solomon had more than one wife. The only safe place for women to have peace and equal freedom to men is heaven.

Whether she knew the law or not, it is unjustifiable and disturbing that a loose hijab led to her death.

I don't want to even think of visiting, more of considering the idea.

That makes the two of us. I guess if we decide to travel to such countries, it would be an act of intended suicide.

Hello @patakwashj. When other people decide what the population should or should not do under unjust laws it is a dictatorship and in this case too cruel.

Escape, the country would run out of women. I don't think they will accept 100% of these obsolete and inhumane laws. But escape would not be the option that would solve the problem.
