T minus 1 day

I still had one vacations period this year, but due to some unforeseen situations I wasn't sure I would actually go on vacations, until now.

They're not my usual kind of vacations, by far. I normally pick a destination, get my backpack, have a very very rough sketch of what I want to see/do, and make the plans as I go; here, it will be just a week of relaxation, and mainly enjoying the beach and good company. But there are some special highlights for sure, or I would probably get bored to death. And the first one, is that they're going to be on a continent I only visited once: Africa!

My only incursion to the African continent was to an awesome island called São Tomé.

The island is covered in luxuriant green, mountain areas, and the tropical climate creates good condition to some types of plantations, such as coffee!

I wasn't expecting to see coffee growing in the middle of a misty forest, but here they are; and I still remember the scent of the coffee bags I brought back, some of the best coffee I've tasted!

Now, my next destiny is not known at all for the luxurious green; nor for the waterfalls in the middle of the forest.

But one thing it has: beautiful beaches! Will they be as pretty as this one? This one is in a small islet near the main island, called Ilhéu das Rolas.

Well, guess I'll find out soon enough.

One thing it will have for sure: wildlife that I don't usually see. Be it above water, as this little lizard just outside our hotel on the main island...

... or below water, as this cutie!

Diving is actually one of the main attractions of these vacations for me. I'll try and borrow an action camera from my brother in law, it would be awsome if I could get some decent photos of whatever critters lurk on those seas!
