The boss of the garden.

She looks so cute, but then cuteness is deceiving, so come and see.

A Sunday laugh to show you how cuteness makes way for entitlement.

There is one drinking place in our garden and the squirrels think that it belongs to them. So everyone else that wants to enjoy the bath, has to watch out for the squirrels. They have a habit of eating nuts that dry their throats and then they don't care who is on the bath when they want to drink. Come and see the action here.

The squirrel reminded me of entitlement.

Look at the right of the photo as the squirrel jumped up on a log that I placed there for them to get up on the birdbath when they are thirsty.
Note that the doves were occupying the birdbath.
333.JPG

Bang! The squirrel simply jumped up onto the bath, scattering the doves.
334.JPG

All of this so that she can take a drink.
335.JPG

Here was another occasion.

Again the same thing happened. Here below the doves sat around peacefully.
243.JPG

All of a sudden there was pandemonium as a thirsty squirrel arrived.
244.JPG

Again only to take a drink.
246.JPG

Nothing that the doves can do except to flee. But then after a while peace is restored and the doves simply return. I have seen this done many times on a day, and I am hoping for the day to come when the doves will remain on the bath when the squirrel arrives so that they can all drink together.
A long shot, me thinks, but with nature one never knows. So in the meantime it will be still the jump and flight approach.
Hope that you enjoyed the post, the laugh, and the photos.

And That's All Friends.

"I am hoping for the day to come when the doves will remain on the bath when the squirrel arrives"

One could hope that the whole world would learn to share things in that manner.
After all, in your case the squirrel is not a predator and couldn't harm the doves, so you'd think they could understand and sit still and share.
Love it Stephen (cuz) @papilloncharity

That is the lesson for us that I showed sublimely in the post cuzzy Jerry.
Peace and acceptance between all.
However care must be taken and the doves show the value of this.

What's with this "Low rating stuff in your message?

Hmmm... 🤔... I don't see it, but I'm again being downvoted by that one maniac, so I don't know, unless that is what caused that rating.

Good afternoon Hannes,

No need to wonder as if a squirrel wants a drink, he couldn't care who is around, he will take a drink 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Good evening Hannes,

Maybe the squirrel would try to dance with them if they stay, as they already eat together 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

Good evening Hannes,

For sure I will make a video if they dance and I think that it will be a blockbuster 🤣 !LOLZ

You won't believe what happened today between a European Starling and a Ringneck dove.
I will show you in a post tomorrow, as I have already done my 2 posts for the day.

Cheers and thanks.

What, again? Didn't I greet you already? If not then Good evening Hannes,

Hahaha, yes, I don't think that will ever happen, but we both know that Mother nature can play many tricks on us 🤣 !LOLZ

By now you have seen the post and I know that it was not what you expected to see 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Hahaha, yes, maybe she wanted to see the surprise in my eyes 🤣

Neither did I expect it and it was indeed a shock at first when I saw that the starling jumped into the bath, as I thought that some kind of a fight was about to happen. I am sure that both of the birds looked at me as if to say, "How's this for peace brother"? 🤣 !LOLZ
A first for me and I am sure a first for you to see it as well.

Cheers and thanks.

I think such would be a first for most people. These two should be role models for many people or even countries.

Oh my gosh I love it. Those silly doves just need to stay. It certainly seems that cuteness is a privilege. Thanks for cheering me up. Anything squirrel is up my alley.

Hahaha, nope I don't think that the doves will ever learn, unless the squirrel learns not to appear so suddenly. Squirrels always use their cuteness to get what they want :)
Glad that I could cheer you up.

I would love to live in your garden, my house is in town. We don't have squirrels, hedgehogs etc come into our gardens, we do see the odd one now and again on the way out of the area. All we get is Seagulls, Pigeons and Magpies.

Sad for you, but little hedgehogs are also cute. My daughter also emigrated to the UK with her family about a year ago and she reckons that it is nothing like South Africa where nature is concerned.
We are in a rural area and maybe there will be more action in your rural areas.

It certainly isn't unless your in the country, I have a garden, I grow flowers, have a Bee corner but no wildlife, no little birds just annoying seagulls. If you would like to swap we are available 😉 😊

Hello @papilloncharity, squirrels are authoritative but very funny. Here is one that drops cashews for our dog to eat.

Thank you and humor plays a big role in my life my friend. The squirrels are not really bullies, as at times they even leave the bits and pieces of the nuts that they eat for the birds.
Glad that you liked the post.
