Some amazing hot photos here.

The mountains are fired up by the hot sun and they turn red at night.
photo.jpg

I have a series of pictures that I hope will enthrall you. Especially those in the cold countries.

We are having very hot days over here and we are not even into February month yet. February is our hottest month and the early indications are that we are going to fry under the African sun.
Some areas of the country are already in the 50 Celsius range and our turn will soon arrive.
It is amazing to see how the mountains absorb the heat and they become like hot ovens that heat the winds flowing over them.
We are only 6 kilometers away from the mountains and those same hot winds can make life a little bit unbearable :)

At first I have two afternoon photos for you.
152.jpg

131.jpg

And here are two of the sunset photos. That red color of the mountains reflect the heat that is inside the mountains.
225.jpg

215.jpg

Finally, 3 shots of the moon after the sunset and yes it was still very hot.
251.jpg

238.jpg

217.jpg

Exactly 20 minutes for a bucket of ice to melt that I put in front of the fan here in the study. Even though we have the heat here, some towns inland are still being flooded by severe storms. Yesterday we saw photos of a big flood in a town called Ladysmith. Further afield we know that a volcano erupted under the sea (happens every 900 years), at Tonga resulting in mile high clouds of dust and tsunamis with huge waves creating destruction.

So yes, we face the anger of nature and some are saying that things will get even worse. God forbid that many lives will be lost and if only we started to listen to the warnings about the toxic gasses being pumped into the ozone layer, things could have been normal today.
Maybe they should declare one day of the week a "Happy Pollution Day", as a reminder of the damage that we are causing to our planet and to our lives.

Sorry for the rant but things can simply not continue like this and I mention it far and wide at every opportunity. It is heartbreaking to see dead sea life lying around en mass at the beaches.

And That's All Friends!

Such a "Happy Pollution Day" would be a great idea, and nobody would be allowed to do anything that could damage our planet - no cars drive for example 😀

The photos are beautiful, Zac, these pink ones look like Alpenglow - awesome 🤩

Try to keep cool, my friend ❄️

Oh yes, a day like that would certainly make everyone aware of the danger that we are in and hopefully things will start to improve 😉

That is real heat that you see on those stones my friend. The mountains are very hot and even the birds don't go near them.

I picked this Jackal Buzzard up with my camera today and he was far away from the mountains.

Rained a bit here today which thankfully cooled the day down a bit, but tomorrow it will be back to the furnaces again. They say that our weekend is going to be very hot.

Cheers and thanks.

I can imagine temperatures far below zero and we have had temperatures below -20C, but such a heat is something I don't know.

I hope more rain will cool everything more down, but you said that February will be even hotter, so I don't know what to say apart from my hope it's different this year.

Just imagine sitting on a burning Sahara desert sand dune where nothing grows due the heat my friend.
So as you are experienced with your cold extremes, we are supposed to be experienced with our hot extremes. When I was younger it was never a problem me, but now that I am a little bit older the heat really troubles me.

That bit of rain yesterday was a Godsend, but today we were welcomed by the heat again and until Sunday it's going to be hell.
But you know what I will say here 😊

Cheers and thanks.

I would love to make a trip to the Sahara and take photos there - the sand dunes are so beautiful, but I don't think I would want to live there for longer - think I'd prefer the north pole 😂 !LOLZ

I hope your weatherman is wrong, just as ours is most times wrong too 🤞

You? Coming from Austria? In the Sahara desert?
Sorry mate, they don't have 5 minute revival pills on the market yet. The son and the burning sands will scorch the leather off your boots and the the sand serpents and the scorpions will feast on your toes 🤣 !LOLZ

Hahaha, the weatherman has already dropped us a few degrees my friend. But it is still nothing to smile about and they reckon it's just the beginning.

Have a look at the new warning. The color red means hellish hot.

Easy to book into a hotel in Namibia and to visit the sand dunes my friend.
You will like it in Windhoek as there are many local Germans there.

A rain dance? What does an Austrian mountain goat know about a rain dance I wonder?

Cheers and thanks.

So I will avoid Windhoek because as I am an Austrian I am not interested in Germans 🤣 !LOLZ

I know nothing about the rain dance - this is why the sun runs and the sky cries 😂

Oh yes, I forget, you can only speak French 🤣 !LOLZ

Well when you come here I will take you to the "Naa-maas", as they are the expert rain dancers and they will teach you how to do it with an ostrich egg on your head🤣
Of course there will be a couple of droughts over the years until you get it right 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Hahaha, there are only a few real Germans in Namibia and the other Germans are the local tribes.
So I doubt if any of them have ever been to Germany or Austria. Definitely not your neighbors 🤣

Totally agreed and please forget the idea of trying to do any rain dances, as Austria might turn into a desert 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

Believe me, my friend, when you go on vacation here, e.g. to Italy or Slovenia or Croatia it could be that you meet your neighbours. Then you can see them behave so very different 🤣 !LOLZ

But with "neighbours" I meant the whole - some people are happy to meet people from their own country and they even stick together sometimes. I do not want to hear any German word. If I want to have my own people around I can stay at home.

I think it depends on where they go and if they can afford expensive holidays they might behave differently from the ones I mean on the Italian beaches who show a real bad behaviour many times.

What the bad ones doesn't know is that they leave a bad reputation of their entire nation behind tem when they go back home.
Tourists should know that they are ambassadors of their countries methinks 😉

Oh yes, one bad thing about too much alcohol is that one loses control of the sub-conscious mind and it spews out all the dirt in one's thoughts via the mouth. Bad stuff that erupts to hurt others.

One says ugly things and then hide away when sober 🤣 !LOLZ

Yes, alcohol had a part in it as it loosened our tongues and our befuddled actions, but we are the guilty ones as we did not take responsibility in regard during our drinking days.

Cheers and thanks.

"Happy Pollution Day", not so sure it's happy perhaps a good thing to remind everyone what damage is being done via blasting, sonar testing, fires running rampant, it is everywhere. Yes our sick world!

Heat in the mountains looks angry looking back down, saw the moon last night for the first time in ages a clear sky!

Did you know that we had from January to December we had more than 9000 wild fires here?

Fires normally man made, people just don't think of devastation they cause, to many on the land as well!

Moon was a fuzzy ball when I looked with thin misty conditions before turning it in last night, pretty but not for photography.

Oh yes and there's talk here of drones to be used for surveillance so it can only be a good thing as the fire statistics are shocking.

Here was our moon last night.

Another hazy view of moon last night at midnight I did not take my camera out after day with some rain. Lovely capture between the clouds here.

Drones could be used for fire watch, animal protection and many other good uses it's all in timing to capture early.

Nope, I didn't see the moon again and amazing that it clouds over during so many full moons.
I heard it's name the "Wolf Moon" was cloned by American tribes as they heard the wolves howl at the full moon.

Drones will certainly help and more good news is that our entire sea areas can now be watched via the 5 Musk satellites. I don't know how they are going to explain who allowed foreign fishing ships to raid our waters.

We need drones everywhere, so many snares going up in areas where poaching never happened previously, not counting game parks.

Need satellites with laser gun technology to blow them out the water after one warning, action needed not just the information. Could be used against land invasions, drug/child trafficking, many possibilities over and above ones mentioned.

Happy days are here again! sarcasm

Should this ever happen South Africa will be once again ostracized in this left leaning world where everyone has a right to do whatever they want.

So no, your way will not work, but the drones and their cameras can indeed be of great help to the crime fighters.

So many words to say but not enough time, except yes, I do agree, as trillions of us 'average' folk do, so if we can keep making 'rant's about it like yours, then hopefully one day, sooner rather than later since i't's already almost too late, then we may be able to turn the tide and change the future to suit firstly the earth, then the animals, then us, then the corrupt governments and their oil/gas and fossil fuel mining monsters...so rant on my friend, because there is education and enlightenment for others in those rants...

And sensational shots too by the way!

You are absolutely right, nature is continuously warning us, and it seems that we turn a deaf ear, and those who have the power to do something are not interested.

The powermongers are only interested in profits my friend. So to cut a forest down and build new houses means a lot of money for them. To own a coal mine scarring the earth and the burning coal in the power stations sending toxic fumes into the atmosphere means money for them.
In my mind, plastic was one of the most evil inventions ever, just go and ask the oceans.
Sorry, but I am just not fond of destroying the earth and creating a doom for the children in the future.
