Some amazing dragonfly shots.

Have you ever seen a dragonfly flying in and landing?

A smile for my camera as she landed so as to say, Hi Zac how's that

We had a strong wind today and the little dragonflies had a hard time hunting for bugs. We also learned a new thing, water the garden and the dragonflies will come. The bugs do not like the wet and as they rise the dragonflies will get them.
So come and have a look at her flying in.

She is a young Cape Skimmer (Orthetrum chrysostigma)

Here you can see how the wind held her up, but she was perfectly balanced.

Look at that big smile that she gave me as she landed.

Okay this was not very lady like as she had a poop and there was a bit of strain on her face.

Her guy landed on a plant below and he also had a friendly look on his face. I think that they feel safe here because we don't use pesticides or poison in the garden

The thing is that we were supposed to have a power cut again from 4pm in the afternoon. So we again prepared the hot water flasks, made some sandwiches, switched everything off and went out to sit in the garden.
Same as yesterday, as when we came back inside at 6:30pm the power was on and again they didn't switch us off.

We cannot switch anything on during the scheduled power cuts, as if it suddenly gets cut off then the PC'S can be damaged. So I think that it's going to turn out to become a game of Russian roulette.
Stay switched on and take our chances methinks.
Mind you if we didn't have to go out, you would not have seen these lovely dragonfly shots.

So I hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.

And That's All Friends.

Dragonflies are fascinating creatures. With up to 95% success rate in capturing prey, they are considered the most effective predator of the entire animal kingdom. Very impressive.
