I am a mountain man.
Wait, wait, wait for it until the wind shifts the cloud ball across, into the center of the mountain ridge.
We went back to the pond this morning to check on the development of the Anax nymph that I shared in my previous post HERE
Sadly, you will see in the late edit of the previous post what happened to the nymph, as the strong overnight wind wiped out everything.
But not a problem as there is always much else to see here. Today I will show you photos of the lone mountain towards the north and also a mountain range towards the east.
So without further ado, come and have a look.
This pedestrian certainly stuck to the rules. (See the notice top left) :)
A bit of humor is always good for the soul.
We stopped off at our local public park first on our drive for me to take some photos of our mountain range. I have 3 photos of the mountain range for you to see below. Including this one.
Look at this lovely picture of a cycad branch curl next to a paradise flower.
The cloud ball had moved on as we traveled past the mountain again on our way back.
I took this shot in my car door's mirror on our way out. It's towards the east behind us.
This was what the turn off to our place looked like, and the view is towards the ocean in the west.
And finally, there was a doggie in the sky when we got home.
So, the nymph was gone and whether the dragonfly had fully emerged out of the nymph stage, we will never know. I was so glad to get the photos of my first Anax nymph. At times in our lives the same thing seems to happen regularly.
You will see something today and tomorrow it's gone.
Or things can change in a very short period of time. The same it is with our moods. One moment we can smile, then something happens and the next moment we want to cry.
Some of us attempt to stay aloof and neutral at all times in an attempt at self-preservation and others simply climb into anything boots and all.
The instantly changing weather here reminds me of this, as every day is not the same and colors change continuously, depending on the wiles of the weather. We are also so different, as today we can like someone and tomorrow, we don't. Mother nature is a great teacher and if we can stay as anchored as a mountain in our lives, so many things can change.
Just my way of looking at things lately.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Glad you didn't have to ticket the pedestrian for not sticking to the pathway. 😀
The photos of the mountain range are wonderful. I also liked the cloud that looked like a dog, that was real neat.
You are correct, things can change so quickly. The older I get the more I think this is so true.
Oh yeah, I would certainly have had a word or ten with him, but he seemed like a decent fella.
Thank you for the compliment and just to tell you that I love that mountain range. We lost our little dog in November, after 17 years, last year and I saw him in the sky wishing me love.
I also have too many years behind my back and a one gets older, things take on a better clarity.
The last cloud looks like a lama to me 🦙. A fluffy lama. Cloud watching are a great imagination/ fantast game.
Ah! Okay, then it lama it is.
Been keeping my eyes on the clouds now for a lifetime.

I like the way you describe in detail each stage of this wonderful ride, let's hope that he has turned out to be happy.
The cloud in the shape of a dog is incredible, what a great imagination you have.
Thank you and yes, I am keeping an eye out for him, but no show yet.
Thank you again for the compliment.
