Under The Weather

I started feeling a bit off Sunday night and it has gotten progressively worse to the point that I'm feeling fairly crummy at the moment. It is an odd feeling as I haven't felt sick (except for a mild case of COVID) in about a year and a half. Ever since I dedicated myself to a fairly strict carnivore lifestyle I've not been sick at all. I went to a cookout on Sunday afternoon and perhaps I picked up a bug from there. I made it through work on Monday and Tuesday and I'm off today and tomorrow and I hope I can use the time to rest and get some energy back.

Work was absolutely miserable and I was beginning to feel so bad on Monday that I actually bought an in-home COVID test and tested negative that day and I took another one last night and it was also negative. I detest most medication and I try to avoid the doctor as much as possible. I'm sure I will begin to turn around tonight and if not I may have to call out of work on Friday and go to a walk-in clinic to get checked out. For now it is just severe fatigue, head congestion, and sneezing.

I did manage to maintain enough strength to tear down my entire smoker to replace an internal temp probe and diagnose why the auger was not working to feed the pellets to the combustion chamber. Due to my condition, it took much much longer than it should have and involved a significant amount of frustration through the process lolololol Apparently, some of the wood pellets came in contact with enough moisture to expand and break them down into a pulpy sawdust that clogged the auger tube. Luckily I realized it was not feeding in time to save the motor from being burned up from the auger being seized. I was able to dump all the pellets and clear everything out. I changed the internal temp probe and hopefully she is good to go for the next smoke session.

Being under the weather has made me take some time to reflect on how buys I stay and that could be a contributing factor for being ill. I'm going to attempt to make a more concerted effort to have more down time for the things I enjoy doing. I may have spread myself a bit too thin and over-taxed my immune system.

One additional positive to the day was while I was working on my smoker, I cleaned up the back porch a bit and was throwing away some potting materials from when I repotted my new Asiatic lilies and found several small bulb in the material! I was able to get them in to an decent sized pot with some good soil and hopefully they will grow into a new set of lilies!

Well, this post is taking more out of me than I thought it would so I'm going to head out. Remember that I love you all and it is imperative that you take time for yourself and to rest ALL your systems. No amount of crypto is worth your health.....well unless Drip moons again! lololol

Hope you feel better man! One thing to keep handy no matter the sickness is some good vitamin C, D and Zinc. Shit works amazing at keeping stuff like this from getting out of control.

I've had some times lately I've felt under the weather like that and lots of water and actually getting some sleep is a big help lol most nights I'm just getting my 7 hours but if I'm not feeling well I try to go for 9 or more if I can.

Really, really excellent advice. I discovered the "miracle" of vitamin c, d, and zinc a couple of years ago and haven't looked back since! lol I think more water and sleep is going to be key as I've neglected both pretty severely lately. Thanks for taking the time to comment and for offering some advice. It is greatly appreciated.

I'm surprised the amount of coffee in my system allows any bug to live at all...lololol Thank you for your concern, I appreciate it and your friendship greatly!
