How many did you break?

This afternoon a funny thing happened that sent me into nostalgia. My baby girl was having fun time shoveling between items placed intentionally within arms reach for her to play with while I made her food. Without warning and from no where she grabbed the handle of the tall flask and have it crash to the floor with a disturbing noise.

Thank goodness its an unbreakable flask and I had the lid well in place and tightened.

Instead of getting frustrated at the fact that she won't let me concentrate, I just smiled upon the fact that if it was yesteryears, the flask used in my own time,this flask would have been rendered useless by now.

This reminded me of those fanciful thermo flasks that my mom used for my siblings and I. I broke so many of those that I was given a title in my house. The title is in my native language which literally translates to 'someone with a weak hand'.

This was not my fault. Those flasks were just too fragile for their own good. I mean, they could literally break from just passing by them. I felt really bad each of those time because they looked really cool and every time they were replaced I hoped they last.

Even the cups were not spared. Both mug and glass cups. My dad use to have three sets of those tiny fanciful little tea cups their tiny saucers, I was a major reason why they went on extinction one after another till we had no single one left in the set. Till this day, I break the highest number of cups in my own house.

Although I could use my money to replace them now that I'm an adult, its sucks to see my plates or cups break especially when it is my favorite of them.

The other day I was in a store to get replacement for the broken plates and cups. I never knew there was something like an unbreakable ceramic plate till I went to this store to get plates and cup. I was shown a not too wide but cute flat plate.

It looked to me like a normal ceramic plate that can always break but the store owner swore that it could never break from just colliding with the floor. I snorted and told her she was only hyping the plate so that I can buy it since it was costlier than the other plates in that category. To prove her point and without warning, she let go of this plate from a height and nothing happened. I told her it was mere luck and I was not impressed. She the took it to even more higher point and let go of it severally and to my greatest chagrin there was not a single crack on this plate. How cool is that! Oh you guessed right. I bought all three that she had on the shelf at that moment. A bit pricey but I love the idea of an unbreakable ceramic plate.
