Flashes Of Memories || LOH 77th
Childhood memories, especially places I have been back then still reflect in some of my nightly dreams at 28! Do you sometimes get a flash back about something in the past when going about your normal daily activities? Because I do.
Flinches, soft smiles, shake of the head or even a clench of teeth are ways I react to these memories.
It seems crazy but I always assure myself that I am sane and its normal to have these flash backs sometimes. I guess the @ladiesofhive 77th contest has given me a perfect opportunity to know if this is normal.
So, tell me, do you have similar flash backs sometimes?
Hi there! Good to have you here. Its the LOH 77th contest and hosting us this time is @thekittygirl drumrolls!!!
For this week we want to know:
1️⃣ What were your favorite games (or toys) as a child? Tell us about them!
Do you still play any of them now?
Or
2️⃣ What were your favorite foods as a child? Do you still enjoy them now?
My favorite game/ past time/ toys as a child was weaving hairs for my dolls. I had some hairy dolls back then with which I'd practice how to braid and weave. I could sit there for hours weaving and imagining. I guess it was my introvertive self finding a way to express itself but I would literally do all the conversation with my client(the doll) on my head. I would choose a hairstyle for her and describe how the end result would look on her face still in my head. To the person watching from a far...it just a kid admiring her toys... for those few minutes.

Most times the hairdo take hours and I would only take a break from it if I'm hungry or if something more interesting come up. Of cause, the job would be 'continued' (start afresh mostly) the following day.
Yes, ma'am. I still braid till this day. I got better at the skill over the years thanks to my mom that would allow me to use her hair for practice.
Did I say I get better? Sis, I became a pro! I can literally weave my very own hair in front of the smallest mirror (I could do without mirror too.) And no, its not because of the recent kinky hair movement by fellow young African women. I've been doing it from way back!
This skill helped me a lot in my undergraduate days when I lived on very little pocket money. I simply weave my own hair and bounce out to class. I use wigs when I felt like and occasionally went to the salon. In fact, I hardly go to the salon because they didn't know how to treat my hair right! That's a talk for another day.
These days, the skill is really useful because I style my little one's hair effortlessly at home. The amazing thing is that my hold on the hair doesn't hurt at all and I guess its because I got perfect in the act over years. Zero struggles, just sleeks, you best believe.
My favorite foods as a child
I didn't have favorite foods. Up till now I don't really have. I'm happy with it so long as it is edible. No, that doesn't mean I ate much. On the contrary, I was a light eater.
One could almost say food got nothing on me. I didn't take foods seriously and yes, I was really skinny.
Well, I have every reason to think that I was a bunny in one of my past lives because I love carrots! How about you? Do you love carrots? Let me know in the comment section.
As always,
On that note, @ariylove @estherscott @deraaa
come and see choinchin!
I had that doll o but the parts were always missing..and I enjoyed making the hair but I loved sewing clothes for it more....
Hahaha the shoes were always first to go. Do you sew these days?
Not at all....even to amend my cloth with a simple needle and thread is a problem.

Ahm seeing it oo... 😂
I remember how rampant dolls were. Infact we'd put them at our backs and pretend to go to market 🤣
I told my doll I wanted to give her an entirely new look so I cut her hair. I cried hot tears afterwards.
