Sat down in the steps
and with the muted stars as witness
He looked for the moon in the firmament.
He could not see it, but he knew

orbiting the orb in their monthly task.
New moon calls to that absence,
a moon that renovates its cycle,
announces the fertility,
it decrees harvest and favors childbirths.
Coyotes and wolves surrender its wild side,
in love of its Moon.
Today it remain silent in the face of the apparent absence.
The lambs lie in its bed,
in naked serenity.
New moon,
in the sweet waiting from its crescent
the gentle creatures of the nature
it keep sounds in its heart.
The howl will be sign of the happiness
of its shine in the skies.

Sentado en los escalones
y con las mudas estrellas como testigo
buscó la luna en el firmamento.
No podía verla, pero él sabía
que eso no significaba su ausencia
orbitando el orbe en su tarea mensual.
Luna nueva le llaman a esa ausencia,
una luna que renueva su ciclo,
anuncia la fertilidad,
decreta cosechas y auspicia alumbramientos.
Coyotes y lobos rinden su lado salvaje,
enamorados de su Luna.
Hoy callan ante la aparente ausencia.
Los corderos yacen en su lecho,
en sosiego desnudo.
Luna nueva,
en la dulce espera de su creciente
las mansas criaturas de la naturaleza
guardan sonidos en su corazón.
El aullido será signo de la felicidad
de su brillo en los cielos.
