VOLUNTARY WORK IS GOOD

One thing I love is to see people happy even if it's sometime I must do to make them happy. I hate to see someone feeling so sad and it makes me feel bad if I can't do anything to help such person. Helping people in need is something I derive joy from, you don't need to have everything in a platter of gold before you can actually help someone, if you can't help someone with just the little things you have, then when you have it all, you won't still be able to help.

Helping someone comes from the heart, you can even see someone who is extremely wealthy but to give just little to the orphanages or someone in need of money becomes something very tasking or difficult for them to do. Helping someone or being a volunteer to people doesn't really mean you must help with money, there are many ways in which you can become a volunteer. Some people might decide to share the knowledge they have with others without expecting to be paid, it's not because they can't actually work for money just that it makes them happy when they share the little knowledge they have with people who knows less.

Some can even decide to become a community volunteer. Some communities are lacking many things such as good roads, water supply and lots more. Someone who is moved to help can just decide to volunteer himself not because he doesn't have other things doing but because he's tired of seeing so many people surfer in his community so the little he can do is just to make people smile by looking for ways to solve the issues.

I don't know if what I did some years back is a voluntary work because I see myself like someone who still needs to put more effort into helping people. Few years back when an elderly woman had an accident and broke one of her legs, she was admitted for several months and when she came back, her children had already travelled back to their various homes because all were married. She uses her crutches to support herself, to cook and do most of her house chores, I was moved to help her but to some extent I withdrew myself because I didn't know if she would like someone to be of help to her.

I started checking up on her every morning and with time she got used to seeing my face that was how I started helping her to clean, cook and wash clothes. Whenever I'm less busy, I make sure to go to her place to check if she needed anything and if not, I will just stay with her for sometime before going home. I did this for sometime before we relocated to another community entirely. I was happy when I heard that she can now walk without any support and I'm so happy for her.

I have also rendered help to some of my classmates in high school where I helped them by explaining somethings they found hard to understand. I still believe I haven't done anything like becoming a volunteer and I want to help people in any possible way I can which means I'm ever willing and ready to help people if I'm in the position to do that.
