TRYING TO LEARN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES

It's so obvious that learning other people's language has become a very difficult thing for me in as much as I try to learn it. Even when I try to learn the easiest which is their greetings, I end up learning the bad ones first which are the abusive ones😂😂. I have come to understand that trying to learn people's languages is something that will definitely take me a very long time to do and to do that, I have to be in the mist of people speaking same language and interpreting it for me in the language I understand which is English.

I remembered when I travelled to Benue state to study for some years, I tried to understand the TIV language but it was very difficult for me, even my two years there, I couldn't even make a full sentence with the language. The only thing I could say was "come and eat and their greetings". Up till now, I still wonder Why I find it difficult to learn a language different from mine even when I have interest in it. Although, it very easy for me to learn their culture which is their way if life than learning their languages.

To worsen the case, I have lived in a land for years, infact since my primary school, I have been staying in that particular land but I still don't know how to speak their language. I practically grew up their and I have lots of friends their but still was unable to speak or under their language. It's a very big shame to me because as at then, I never had interest in learning anything aside my language but now I regret not putting my head down to learn it. This particular language is Yoruba and it pains me a lot that all my years in that land, I couldn't grab anything good aside little things like when they insult me or probably call me to eat. I only understand the basics of the language which is so humiliating.

In my next life, I will make sure I have the brain to understand different languages and to speak them too because all languages matters depending on where you find yourself. If I have to learn any language now, it will be Spanish. Ever since I have come to see the way most people speak Spanish and even translating English to Spanish just got me thinking that if only I know how to speak the language, it would be of great benefits to me. I will not only learn the language for myself, I might probably open a Spanish school here in Nigeria for those who are interested to learn, this will also create an opportunity for those who want to travel to the country, learn the language earlier before getting to the country.

Learning Spanish, it will be easier for me to communicate to people here on hive and outside hive too. I have always thought of meeting or traveling to Spanish land someday, so learning the language will enable me to communicate with them freely when I get to their land without having to wonder or get confused on what they're saying.
