MY DAILYBLOG// KIDS LEARNING A CREATIVE SKILLS
Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog
It's amazing when you watch kids do something they love and especially when you see them happy while doing it. So I recently started learning a skill which is baking and pastry at a very big place and it's just few days I started work there, I understood that I had engaged myself into any skill earlier but I was just waiting for the best time to do that. I have actually been going to work since Monday and I have learnt somethings there. Although, what I will be concentrating on today is the kids that also came to learn.
I noticed today that some kids come every Saturday to learn how to bake and do other stuffs. I was amazed at their zeal to learn new things aside their school work. They came in one after the other and I learnt there classes start by 9:00am which some actually came late due to some reasons. Picture one was when they started arriving and picture two was when my boss was addressing them on what they will be preparing for today. The kids where happy that they will finally get to do some practicals, I could see the happiness on their faces when they heard that they will be baking Banana cake and chin chin
Banana cake recipes
The recipes they made used of were;
- flour
- brown sugar
- baking powder
- Raisin
- banana
- egg
- banana flavour
- vegetable oil
- fruit juice
- crushed cashew nuts
- black treacles
Chin chin recipes
- Flour
- sugar
- butter
- baking powder
- cinnamon
- salt
- milk
Before they started, they washed their hands one after the other and they wore their apron and cap to cover their hair. They were grouped into four to bake the banana cake, each group were given a bowl and they measured their flour into a bowl.
I could see the smile in some of their faces while they where measuring the flour, they made sure they worked together because each group wanted their cake to turn out very sweet and in order to do that, they need to corporate with each others
They added all their recipes and they mixed together before taking it to the oven to bake. Don't worry, they didn't go to the oven themselves😜, it was an adult that assisted them to do that which was my boss and I.
While the cake was in the oven, they make preparations for the next one is was chin chin. I have never seen kids this happy doing what they love best. They measured the flour and missed the recipes, each kids were given a dough to knead and they were given a pizza cutter to get their desired chin chin shape.
This is the part I loved most, they were so creative, though it was difficult for them to get a perfect size because they were making lots of mistakes while using the cutter. This part made me laugh seeing how they were struggling to get a perfect work. According to my boss, whatever you cut is what we'll fry for you, so they wanted it to come out great and indeed, it came out good.
I was so please with the youngest kid there, she was so concentrated at her work and she made sure to come out with a perfect cutting.
After cutting, we fried the chin chin and at the end each of them came perfect. Bravo to all the kids that worked together to come out with a perfect job. The cake also came out very good, they did a great job.
To remind them of this special day, they all took a group photograph with their cake and chin chin arranged on the table and they were looking so incredibly beautiful and handsome.
For the first time eating banana cake, it was so tasty and sweet, I enjoyed it.
All images used are mine.

It's nice to see these excited kids willing to learn baking and it's good to see them enthusiastic.
The cakes look provocative, I have never tried banana cake, but I imagine it must be delicious as I love bananas. Regards and all the best to the kids and may they continue with the desire to learn.
It's really nice to see them so happy
