El gavilan de Cocollar y su dulce Curruncho / The Cocollar Sparrowhawk and its sweet Curruncho
Greetings friends of #catarsis for me it is a pleasure to be back and share with all of you how I was able to enjoy the company of my family that I have not seen for some time. I arrived in Cumaná, Sucre State with great joy, because that's where I grew up until I went to Maracay to work. Since I arrived I only thought about going to visit "🦅Cocollar's Sparrowhawk⛰️" who lives in a mountain. So I packed my bag and got ready to go with my sister, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces and daughter.
As I got closer to home the excitement was much greater, as I looked at the panorama on the road I could notice that many things had changed, the structures, new buildings and a pharmacy, I felt like a tourist in my own land. Whenever I could see something new I would ask my sister.
Finally, there was "🦅Cocollar's Sparrowhawk⛰️" waiting for our arrival, he welcomed us with music and immediately the children started to dance. I asked my dad for his blessing, then I surprised him with some shrimp, octopus and pepitonas. I started to clean the seafood to make arroz a la marinera. It takes some time, but my sister helped me to speed up the process, it was getting close to lunch time.
Dad was very happy, as it is one of his favorite dishes. He watched how my sister and I had cooked it, he couldn't wait to take pictures to show his friends what he was going to eat. His mouth was watering, he couldn't stop looking and smelling the food. He looked like a child.
Then we sat down to eat, all as a family, we ate and enjoyed the food while talking about my dad's stories. My dad was born in Cocollar, Sucre State. It is a very small and cold little town. There dad had many girlfriends and was quite a Casanova, his friends nicknamed him "🦅Cocollar's Sparrowhawk⛰️", that's where that nickname comes from. We enjoyed the parodies he narrated. Finally, we finished eating and went to the parking lot, we got in the back of a pickup truck and Dad lent us some binoculars so we could see the city. Everyone wanted to see, especially the kids, and one by one we took in the view. It looked great, it was a good time.
Being in the mountain reminded me of many things from my childhood, I told the kids about my antics with my brothers, then I took them to the back of the house, the pool was empty and I proposed to my dad to clean it and fill it, so he told me that I could, I just had to wait for the water to arrive, then I told him that for another time. The kids were playing and I decided to take some pictures of them.
It started to get dark and my dad made a cow's milk candy, which he called "Curruncho", the children laughed when they heard the name, they did not feel safe to try it, but as soon as they tasted it they did not stop following my dad, because they wanted more, it was so sweet. The children would say: grandpa give me "Curruncho", he just laughed at his grandchildren. Finally the night came and we said goodbye to my dad. His grandchildren were very happy for the attention that Grandpa "🦅Cocollar's Sparrowhawk⛰️" gave them.
Estaba cansada. Fue un día fantástico.
Finally, I arrived tired and pleased to have spent a great day with my family. My daughter Oscarliz hugged me and fell asleep quickly. She was tired. It was a fantastic day.
I hope you liked them my dear friends, the family is our fundamental base, in it we learn to be good people, because it is there where we learn principles and values.
