Scars that mark a story of overcoming.
Dear Ladies of Hive community
I take the audacity to make this post in a community of women and for women. Today I want to tell you the story of Meylin, a woman who has proven that beauty is not about having a perfect body, but about having a brave and positive attitude towards life.
Meylin suffered a domestic accident when a pressure cooker exploded in front of her causing burns that left scars on her breasts, this is one of those painful experiences that could have made her feel insecure and uncomfortable with her body. But instead, she decided to embrace her scars and show them off with pride.
As a good son of a woman, husband of a lovely woman, I want to bring this story to other women like you so that you know that if at any point in your life you have a reason why you don't feel comfortable with your body, whether it's your weight, your waistline or anything else. What matters is how you decide to face that situation and overcome it to become a woman proud of yourself.
I will always quote Meylin's story because it teaches us that courage and self-confidence are the keys to feeling beautiful and confident. Despite her accident and in her worst moments, like the loving mother she is, she found in her daughter the strength to pull through and recover to become a woman proud of herself.
Frankly I don't expect to move you with her story, I just hope her example of struggle in the face of adversity, invites you to have confidence in yourself and decide to embrace your body as it is. Never let insecurities stop you on your way to your goals and dreams. Remember that true beauty comes from within, from self-confidence and acceptance of your imperfections.
On behalf of all the women in my family, I want to tell you that life is too short to worry about what others think. Instead, we all (men and women) should focus on being happy and living each day with passion and enthusiasm without wasting valuable time immersing ourselves in the fears of insecurities.
Always remember that you are unique and special, and that you deserve to be loved and respected just the way you are. You are beautiful! You are brave! You are an amazing woman!
This is my tribute Meylin, a woman I admire beyond belief for her bravery and big heart.
You will be missed in this city...
