The Time Machine - Estuário do Cávado - Portugal
Hello everyone and welcome to my blog :-)
ENG
When I was younger I heard her talk a lot about Ofir, a small town near Esposende, but not because of the city itself, but because of a nightclub that was very well known. One of these days, for work, I passed by there and saw a walkway. This weekend we went there to explore this place a little.
We arrived at the Cávado Estuary and I'm glad we came :-)

The walkway is on the left bank of the Cávado river, from the D. Luís Filipe bridge to the vicinity of its mouth, there is a place of notable singularity. Located in the heart of the North Coast Natural Park, the Cávado estuary is distinguished by the presence of reeds and Atlantic salt meadows. The ecological relevance is supported by the nutrient loads brought by the estuarine waters that regularly flood the channel and the high levels of biological productivity of its salt marshes and mudflats, revealed during low tide, which provides a favorable environment for birdlife.

This place, located in a significant migratory corridor for birds, serves as a usual stopping place or wintering destination for several species. Here, birds find a mild climate and a wide diversity of natural habitats, providing them with food and ideal conditions for rest and protection. The area is particularly abundant in water birds, such as herons, ducks and cormorants, as well as shorebirds, such as sandpipers, plovers and doves, which occupy these banks.

We left the corridor to explore a little more and came across a residential area that was a dream (at least for us). Inserted in a small pine forest, the little houses were all equipped with a large garden! The smell of sea air in the air, together with the smell of pine forest, took me back to the summers often spent in the Ria de Aveiro. Beautiful memories of happy days. I hope that one day our little one will remember this smell and that it will trigger beautiful memories in her.

I hope you enjoyed.
See you around.
Wishing you much peace and health
