How was the first day of my Eid? - Happy Ramadan Eid 🌸 (eng-tr)

Hello everyone,

How are you? I'm so happy because three days ago was Ramadan Eid for us. As you know after Ramadan (fasting month) Muslims celebrate Eid after finishing this month. I will share with you the first day of my Eid via this post.

Nasılsınız? Çok mutluyum çünkü üç gün önce Ramazan bayramı vardı. Bildiğiniz üzere Müslümanlar Ramazan ayı bittikten sonra Ramazan Bayramı'nı kutlar. Bu paylaşımda sizlerle bayramın ilk gününü paylaşacağım.

Another name for Ramadan Eid is Candy Feast. So I would like to welcome you with a candy photo :) When people prepare for the feast, they buy the necessary materials. At the beginning of these materials is candy (chocolate if you wish). Relatives are visited on Bayram. You are offered candy in every house. I also like to take photos of the candies I get from a house I visit.

Ramazan Bayramı'nın bir diğer adı Şeker Bayramı'dır. O yüzden sizi şeker fotoğrafı ile karşılamak istiyorum :) Bayram hazırlığı yapıldığında insanlar gerekli malzemeleri alırlar. Bu malzemelerin başında ise şekerleme (dileyen çikolata) alır. Bayramda akrabalar ziyaret edilir. Gittiğiniz her evde size şeker ikram edilir. Ben de gittiğim bir evden aldığım şekerlemelerin fotoğraflarını çekmeyi seviyorum.

Another favorite feature of Eid mornings is breakfast. Every Eid morning a family orders breakfast. This Eid, we invited all our relatives to have breakfast at our house on the first day of Eid. I missed having breakfast during Ramadan :) We prepared breakfast in the big room for men and in the other room for women. In our culture, men and women usually eat at separate tables. This is a cultural preference, not an obligation.

Bayram sabahlarının en sevdiğim bir diğer özelliği ise kahvaltı sofralarıdır. Her bayram sabahı bir aile kahvaltı ısmarlar. Bu bayramda biz davet ettik. Bütün akrabalarımız bayramın ilk günü bizim evde kahvaltı yaptılar. Ramazan boyunca en özlediğim şey kahvaltı yapmaktı :) Büyük odada erkekler için diğer odada ise kadınlar için kahvaltı hazırladık. Bizim kültürümüzde genelde kadınlar ve erkekler ayrı sofralarda yemek yerler. Bu bir kültürel tercihtir, zorunluluk değil.

And the dishes were a big problem for me :( This is the most challenging part of the day. Yes, it is very enjoyable to have breakfast, and it is also very enjoyable to sit at the table for hours, but washing the dishes has been a challenging process for me. Of course, some of the guests helped me :)

Peki bu kadar misafir kahvaltı yaptıktan sonra biriken bulaşıklar :( İşin en zorlu tarafı bu. Evet kahvaltı yapmak çok keyifli, sofrada saatlerce oturmak da çok keyifli ancak bulaşıkların yıkanması zorlu bir süreç oldu benim için. Gelen misafirlerden bana yardım edenler oldu tabi ki :)

Another great thing about Eid is spending time outside. I got ready and went out with my brothers and cousin.

Bayramın bir diğer güzel tarafı ise dışarıda vakit geçirmek. Evdeki işim bittikten sonra hazırlanıp kardeşlerim ve kuzenimle birlikte dışarı çıktık.

One of the things I missed during Ramadan was drinking tea outside. As soon as we got out, we went to such a place. We drank tea in the fresh air while chatting.

Ramazan boyunca özlediğim şeylerden biri de dışarıda çay içmekti. Dışarı çıkar çıkmaz öyle bir mekana gittik. Açık havada sohbet eşliğinde çay içtik.

The name of the place we came to is Saklıbahçe. There are many similar places in the district where I live (Başakşehir/Istanbul). This is one of the most preferred districts especially for families who want to barbecue.

Geldiğimiz mekanın adı Saklıbahçe. Yaşadığım ilçede (Başakşehir/İstanbul) buna benzer birçok mekan var. Özellikle mangal yapmak isteyen ailelerin en çok tercih ettiği ilçelerin başında burası geliyor.

After drinking tea, we were hungry. I hadn't eaten fast food during Ramadan, so I was craving a hamburger. My siblings and cousin had the same idea. The first burger place we went to was closed so we went to a place called Şef'im Burger. The taste of the burger was slightly above average. Since I was hungry, the taste of the hamburger was not important :)

Çay içtikten sonra acıktığımız fark ettik. Ramazan boyunca fast food tüketmediğim için canım hamburger istemişti. Kardeşlerim ve kuzenim de aynı fikirdeysi. İlk gittiğimiz burgerci kapalı olduğu için Şef'im Burger adında bir yere gittik. Hamburgerin tadı ortalamanın biraz üzerindeydi. Acıktığım için hamburgerin lezzeti ikinci planda kaldı :)

Let's move on to the best part of the day :) It is important to have dessert after eating :) My brother took us to a halvah shop that he loves very much. As you can see from the photos, the halva comes in small bowls with ice cream at the bottom. You will not regret eating this duo with tea.

Günün en güzel bölümüne geçelim mi :) Yemek yedikten sonra tatlı yemek önemli :) Kardeşim çok sevdiği bir helvacıya götürdü bizi. Fotoğraflardan da anlaşılacağı üzere küçük kaselerde gelen helvanın alt kısmında ise dondurma bulunuyor. Bu ikiliyi çayla birlikte tükettiğinize pişman olmazsınız.

We finished the day at my aunt's house, where we made our first Eid visit of the day. I did not neglect to buy my candies from there :)

Günü halamların evinde tamamladık. Gününilk bayram ziyaretini oraya yaptık. Oradan da şekerlemelerimi almayı ihmal etmedim :)
