WednesdayWalk That Make Me Smile - My Rural Lifestyle
Living in the city most of my time is not a pleasure but because it is the source of my income, I must try to love it. Since I grew up in rural place, I prefer all that is natural. During my vacation, I been wandering the wilderness. There was no tiredness going up even in the mountain or to the sea. So grateful to God that, we have the sea 3km away from home in the mountain range.
Those were the trees in our surrounding,so fresh air and the nature infront or at the back, wherever I looked, it's the blue sky in the morning nor in the afternoon and the green tree leaves waving and dancing every time the wind blows.
One afternoon, children were playing basketball and there was a pouring heavy rain so they went home covering their head with banana leaves. I smiled looking at them. They are my relatives.
This is the banana plants which is commonly planted elsewhere.
My Uncle was too busy checking banana to find out if there were fruit that was for harvest and ready to eat.
My father's remembrance jackfruit tree bearing fruit but so sad my father can't eat its harvest.
Coconut trees were planted by my mother but she is not with us too. The cacao was the remembrance of my grandfather. It keeps on nonestop bearing fruits.
The beautiful queen of our garden in the backyard. It has an elegant crown amd it was planted by my 95 years old grandmother who is still alive.
Our way of cooking using firewoods. We used gasul in cooking but I preffered the foods cooked by the ancient procedures.
These are some of so many flowering and ornamental plant around and the chili.
A garden is too poor when there is no butterfly visiting and sipping the nectar of of our flowers.
Before, I was not afraid walking alone in the wilderness but lately I was awkward and afraid. Maybe, there would be someone caught their attention from me.
See this hard rock/stone, when I was a baby, this rock was there infront of our old house that was being burned last 1985. I remember I sat down here watching the ashes remained from our house.
This place, our old first house was standing that was caught by fire when we were not around. Teardrop was falling the time I visited our old place. It was gone, our happiest memory with my little sibling and the pregnant pig we had but the pregnant pig survived and gave us piglets that time.
Do you know molave tree? It was so tiny when I left Philippines planted near our old house but now it become bigger and ready to sell if we want.
The big empty sea shell I had was a remembrance from my grandmother who was living before in the Island. She got it when she was lookimg for a seashell and luckily she found it. It can be use for calling us, blowing like horn, calling the people for a meeting or telling the people that there was someone who die. It depends on how many times we blew it, and it meant to be.So when I heard it someone from home blowing it for five times, people would gave respect and uttered simple way of prayers. We were sure that after hearing five time blowing of this shell means death.
There was no aircon in the province, we only have electric fan and it was too hot during day light. If how I used my outfit in Saudi Arabia, it has a big different in our place. Anyway, when there are people around, not a family member, I covered myself too. Like the time I took this picture, I was just , feeling beaitiful alone at the backyard and I took this as my remembrance during my 2022 vacation with the nature around me.
My Last 2022 Loon, Bohol Philippines Sunset
It was not my last goodbye if God allows me to live more bountiful days in my life. If how much the sun shine on me on that day, that's how much I meant the sundown for me to rest and giving hope and courage waiting for the dawning and the beautiful sunrise everyday!
This is my story for the #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay, #makemesmile by @elizacheng, @asean.hive community by @justinparke and family.
It's very nice to live in the village, indeed the atmosphere is very much different from in the city but there is fun there even though it looks very simple. :)
