Hello Creatives,I hope you are all doing great,today am going to be sharing with you, a portrait I made like a tribute to my art mentor ,"Kelvin Okafor art", To me He is the best pencil artist that have ever walked the universe,and has been my source of inspiration for bringing beings to realism using graphite and charcoal pencil for years.I made this drawing after I received a follow and a repost of one of my amaizing piece from him on iG and I express my experience an gratitude in a poem,Enjoy thanks

🌹Title: Surreal "l"

I knew it was coming, I dreamt about it, I felt it.
My eyes were open, yet I couldn't see it. I was determined to see it through, even though my hand and mind couldn't fully grasp it.

But 'what is it with this graphite and charcoal that you need to study generally?' Friends kept telling me till my ears were full.
Yes, I agreed but the more I tried to let go a bit, the easier it was for it to get back to my hand.
No, this is not ordinary but it is. I can't just be easily drawn away from my first and genuine love "The Pencil" since age 5. Little did I know there was a similar story.

For the first time in my life, I saw a being that could turn the black dust of lead into a perfect looking being by an imperfect means. He broke the boundary in my brain, as I had always believed reality is only achieved as a photograph, but he made me see there could be a living camera.

Lo and behold, our dream was the same, but our story was nothing compared. Daring to live like him was like from Tottenham to "thought-and -harm", if there is a lesser word to compare. Till I discovered I had more within, yet determined to explore his dots.
