NO HALF-MEASURES

An Arsenal supporter said– "Now everyone see the reason I wanted J.K. to play against Man City. Rob was causing us more problems than help."

Jakub Kiwior has been a refreshing sight for a lot of Arsenal fans, so a lot of them say things like the above.

However it has tended to make Gabriel Magalhães seem like a saint. One said, Gabriel is such a good defender that it is Rob Holding's lack of expertise, that has made Gabriel very shaky since Saliba's injury. I smile and shake my head.

My take is that, if Holding is the cause, that means Gabriel ain't as good as people make him look. These are the kind of talk that has cost them first position at this time. Don't settle for half-measures, tell yourself the whole truth. Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelloti and top notch coaches won't settle for half-measures.

If you pair Holding with Saliba, you would notice the danger won't be as we had it with Gab–Holding. Truth is, Gab ain't a good Arsenal spec yet. And if an Arsenal supporter doesn't know by now that being comfortable with the ball to feet is a crucial part an Arteta Centre-back(CB), then I wonder what he is supporting. Let's tell ourselves the truth, Gab is not that player, at least just yet. He doesn't have enough calm in the head/skill to pass the ball like what an Arteta would like. Saliba is the one that ticks the boxes and you see how the goalkeeper glaringly trusts Saliba more with the ball, for those high pressure situations.

I don't like when a lot of Arsenal fans are economical with truth, I tell you. Gab is physical, he's strong, he would score in set pieces, but the Arsenal way, is the Arsenal way and he doesn't fulfill the requirements. Simple!
He's a good defender for other clubs, not as an Arsenal starter.

Today, many are noticing Zinchenko's defensive weakness. That's why Pep let him go. Nobody will tell me that Arteta didn't know this weakness and he was counting on Gab to help out, the way Saliba covers for White, though for a different reason– when he bombs forward– and Gab is clearly not giving enough cover.

So apart from what I mentioned initially about Gab, he also has this shaky moments that is just not acceptable for a purely possession-based team like Arsenal; even similar possession technocrats– Barca or Man City– won't take it from him.

I don't want to talk about Holding because we knew he wasn't close to Saliba level, so only Arteta knows why he persisted with him. But isn't it what I'm saying? Half-measures! Same law that kept Holding too long is same law that refused to judge Gab accurately.

You know my consolation? Whilst fans can keep preaching this half-measure message Arteta has shown he's a quick learner over the years and he is coming out of this half-measure law. Kiwior is playing now– that's a guy according to London World, "Kiwior actually broke three records in his early training sessions with the Gunners - fastest short sprint, highest agility jump, and standing spring record.
Theo Walcott and Hector Bellerin both previously held the record."

As for Gab, hope we know Kiwior is also a left CB. Kiwior trained just once, with the Polish National Team and captsin,Lewandowski was amazed and immediately asked Barcelona to sign him. That's Kiwior for you! Ofcourse now he has a few caps for his country and was with them at the World Cup.

Then there is an American, Arsenal player, Aaron Trusty, who is now on loan doing wonders. Also very good with the ball on his feet and a left CB too.

The one that even excites me most the the giant 6ft 4 of Frankfurt, Ndicka ,
a left CB back. He is called The Rock. Frankfurt has since confirmed his exit in the summer and reports say he comes to Arsenal. This guy is anointed with calm in his head, so good with the ball at his feet like a midfielder yet he has the physicality of an animal.

You can imagine why I'm upbeat about Arsenal. Arteta has seen the Gabriel weakness and with Zinchenko's defensive frailty being exposed especially when Arsenal play against bigger teams, Arteta would be ruthless, ditching the half-measure syndrome. You can see that a Gabriel may not even have a space on the bench by next season. That's the future!

THIS IS ARSENAL!

Cheers
