Hello Folks!

I know that you guys must be wondering what was happening to me: I had been working A LOT. And, since I just got back from my holiday, I was very poor so, I decided to buy a very, very cheap clay.

This was the result:

getting the clay off my working surface became in itself a fulltime job- it clung to various areas of my work surface I probably spent more time cleaning up my space compared to sculpting
when I tried to condition the clay- I mean, like condition it well- not the quick once off massage, it still got some air pockets in the end
The output was so soft I have to double read the label that what I really got was a polymer clay.

But I can't do anything about it now as I have opened the package and like it or not, I have to find a way to use it in my craft. So here is the trinket dish I made.

I started by rolling this slab- it took me probably 10- 15 minutes to get things started again after this.

Then I used a bit of a clay to make the dish. Yes. As you can see, there are a lot of air pockets on this piece. Frankly, I have to bake this piece even before I get done because its impossible to work with it. The pieces are too sticky and soft, I think that my whole finger print profile is on this piece.

After baking, I decided to use the nail polish to seal it off. Well, its cheap, easy to dry and well, I can tolerate the smell better.

Just back pedaling- this was how the bottom and the seams look like. No I was not able to blend the pieces together because they were just too sticky. This was how it turned out- this was already the baked piece.

And, this was the final design. I just made a very simple pig "swimming" on the dish. I would have wanted more but my medium is unable to support my idea so, I just went with the simple one.

The powder on the dish are baking powder- I use them to remove odors and dampness in my room.

A very cheap way to get me a desiccant.

Despite the airpockets, it still looks beautiful. I like the color combination you used.

It doesn’t look as bad as you say
I feel like so far it’s cheap but serves its purpose than that’s it
The result look nice though
